http://www.carls-sims-3-forum.com/index.php/topic,2455.0.html is about building apartments.  I'll try to finish up the one that I created (do some shoddy decorating, lol) and submit it to the Swap.  It's really not too difficult to make apartments - just partition a building into livable space and NPC space, add an elevator, put in your room markers, and turn rbbb back on to play-test.

I'm an active participant in that thread, and I've actually built a functioning apartment on a vacant lot.  My plan was to send it to you for the swap shop (at the request of a couple of other participants), but after double checking the content and fixing a few items, I've discovered that I have no idea where to find the file to e-mail it to you lol.

If you can tell me how to find it, I'll send it your way along with some screen shots and the description you suggested in the swap shop area.

The instructions on the main swap shop thread could be helpful. You can upload it to EA and I can download it from there, and you'll just be emailing me screenshots.

I would rather not upload it to the exchange, because I'd prefer that it be exclusive to here.

That part of the instructions was just added. 

We're also working on a new system that will bypass the Exchange altogether.

Carl posted on the new system here.  And here is the link to the new board and other general information.  Looks like it is going to be very easy to use and will be much easier on Carl. 

I can't wait to see the new items posted.  I also can't wait to download more of everyone's wonderful creations.  Happy Simming!

We're still working out some bugs that have come up.  The board has been taken down for the moment.

Hosfac What I do is - when your item goes up into the launcher, it is in the upload section.
You do not have to hit upload on the bottom of launcher again (which does make it available to all others on the official sims 3 site).
If you just put a check mark in the item you uploaded, then click on Show File below, it will show you your file location for that item on your computer, you can get it from there without it being available to others on the Sims 3 Site.

It makes sense now lol.  My origional problem with not finding the file was that I missed the step for clicking "Share."  Thus, there was no file for me to find.

I'm going to try to use the forum for uploading it.

What, precisely, are you looking for in this? How to reach max level, what skills you need, etc?

I'll be out of work for 6 weeks while recovering from surgery, I might be able to do this, depending.

What exactly are you looking for?  A guide to building one?

Yeah but at this point I'm not sure how necessary it is as there's a topic here at the forum for that type of thing. I have been busy with my side project, which is taking longer than I thought but after so much time investment I need to finish it.

I'll put up those skill self-employment tables Monday or Tuesday.
