Huge Space Rocks

I looked and couldn't find anything about prices of space rocks. If I overlooked it, please move it to the right place! I found a gigantic rock worth over $31,000!

There is not anything on prices in the Meteorites Section, the only mention of cost is about Carl's Sim who found a $4000 one under the catacombs. That is a nice sum of money for a rock though! I suggest you sell it, it's not as if it looks pretty or anything!

I've played the game a great deal, but have never found a gigantic space rock, not to mention a 31,000$ rock! I can stare up to the night sky until my sim passes out, but nothing. Sometimes you just have bad luck with these things.

I found a gigantic space rock by pure chance early in my legacy.  No telescope, I just noticed it on the beach and sent my Sim over.  Can't remember how much I sold it for, but it made a dramatic difference to my Sim who was still in the struggling to get by stage.

Warning on huge space rocks...you know how you have your sim "analyze space rocks?"  Take my advice and DO NOT have them analyze the huge ones.  One of my sims did find a huge rock and I think it was worth around $3000.  Then I got greedy and had them analyze it...turns out, after analyzing to be worth only around $1800.    I just should've sold the durn thing when I had a chance.

Right, but you can also get lucky! It was only worth like $3000 than I analyzed it and it was worth $31,000! I guess it can go either way!

You could save before you do and analyze it, then if your not happy exit to the main menu with out saving... Then just reload the game of course!

Yeah, bshag had a bit of bad luck with that one.  When it's analyzed it can be worth the same, more than, or less than the estimated value.  Also, if you don't analyze it, you won't get credit for whatever type of space rock it is in your collection journal.

Nice. 31k. I would always analyse a rock. Money is no problem to me but to identify all rocks for the collecting skill is a problem.

Wow, and I thought I was lucky to find a rock worth $11,000! I was excited, until I went to exit the game and I got hit with the Error 12 or 16 code message (I can't remember which one it was) but I lost my prize rock because of it.

Space rocks are scattered all over town like gems and metals.  In the Guide, there's a page that has maps of the towns with markers showing where you can find the various types of rocks.  See if these help you find any.  (The pictures are thumbnails, so you need to click on one to see the full size map.)

My sim was using his telescope once and I got a message saying a meteorite had fallen in town. I looked on the map and it pointed out this house. I sent my Sim there and he picked up this gigantic space rock. Unfortunately, I can't remember what I did with it.

I have not had much luck with space rocks either.  I have only gotten the one meteorite from the telescope and found the tiny space rocks, but I really have not looked real hard for them.

Ooooh...nice! Also, I didn't know that you can actually "see" things... in TS2 you can spy on your neighbors, but the only thing that happens is a bunch of angry sims yelling at you, he he.
