To answer the question about youths, yes, the social worker comes to get the child and also a social worker will come pick up a pet, if the owner dies.  I just played a game where both things happened.  Quite strange about the dog though, after the owner passed away, Grim stayed with the puppy until the social worker came.  This game still ceases to amaze me. :)

Maybe in Grim's mind their JUST humans (kids and babies). Being an occult (like the Unicorn) he's more into the animals?
