Insane, Neurotic, Grumpy Sim
« on: April 08, 2010, 03:08:46 PM »
Okay so my third generation first born who is now a child has the following traits (from random rolling).

Insane, Neurotic and Grumpy.

So what do I do with this sim? Talk about bad luck. He'll make a fun challenging heir. ;)

Hee hee!  Should be fun!

Who knows, you might roll virtuoso or something next and then it will be easier to figure out what to do with him.  One thing I sometimes do, just to make things a bit more interesting, is when they age up to adult I'll also do a random dice roll for the LTW.  I keep a dice by my computer for just that purpose. :)

The easiest Career for rubbish skills is Business, It takes no skills apart from socialising with co-workers and holding meetings! It also helps as you can make 750 + on a day when you are not working by holding meetings!

Also, I would call Neurotic a positive trait, in spite of its connotations.

Similarly, Insane rarely affects anything, as far as I can recall.

They're really not horrible traits.  Your Sim can still do anything you want and learn any skills.  It just won't happen quite as fast.

And there are Rewards which will help to compensate for this as well :)

Neurotic is definitely a good trait. You can freak out and you'll be immune to stress for 8 hours. If you freak out every day right before going to work, you can work hard all day without getting stressed, which can lead to more raises and faster promotions. It's also a good trait for writers to keep from getting stressed.

Neurotic sims also get frequent wishes for things like cleaning dishes, making the bed, washing hands, brushing teeth, etc. These wishes may not be worth a lot of points, but they come very often so the points will add up. I try to keep one wish slot open at all times so I'll be ready when these wishes come up.

My Generation Four Spouse has a 'Green Smiley Face' Moodlet which says it lasts for more than the usual 8 hours, something like 15, he has the Grumpy Trait which is the only thing I can think of which gives him that, he has no LTHR.

the only thing i find annoying about insane sims is they never wear what i spent a while designing as their normal outfit - they're always in their swim suit or formal wear instead lol

i didn't really understand the benefits to neurotic though - freaking out before work sounds like a great idea!

Yah I just find it an interesting selection of random traits. Doesn't really point him in any direction. The world is his oyster. I don't even know if any of those traits lead to any lifetime wishes.

My founder is still alive and kicking at over 100, I need him to kick the bucket so I can bring in more generation three.

Luckily I'm taking a break and doing the Baby Boomer challenge. Wait come to think of it, it's not much of a break. :)

yes doing a challenge can be ... not relaxing.
i often find my sims live too long (i need room for more babies). twice i have lost patience. the first time, i starved him to death, and the second, i electrocuted him. lol

Does he also have No Sense of Humor? With that trait, the Having a Blast moodlet will last 15 hours instead of 8.

Neurotic and Grumpy don't lead to any lifetime wishes, but Insane can lead to Gold Digger, Jack of All Trades, Emperor of Evil, or Creature Robot Cross Breeder.
