Re-Colouring the Baby Blanket?
« on: April 05, 2010, 01:43:13 PM »
Is this possible to do without using any mods or cheats (cheats could be okay) etc. I don't want any names of mods as I will not use them so don't post any names, I was just wondering if this is possible without the mods?

I don't think changing the blanket can be done because it can not go to the dresser to enter into CAS mode where style and color can be changed. I tried this before just out of pure curiosity and even when my older Sim carried the baby to the dresser, I couldn't get the baby into CAS mode because they would have to be able to open the drawers. I don't know of any cheats that would help either. It would be cool though to be able to make custom baby blankets. It would allow us an opportunity to do something more fun with our Sim babies than just taking care of their needs. Sorry that I couldn't offer any new help, but I do share your thoughts about this.

I agree with catlvr that there's nothing in-game that will let you change the color of the blanket.

Ok, Thanks Catlvr and Pam! I suspected it was all down to a mod but anyway it isn't really essential just be quite fun, more than the blue and pink mumified baby!

My sister (who doesn't play Sims 3 at all) got a brief look at my game and said the infants look like caterpillars.  :D

Yes, they do. I always thought them as worms from a distance.

I was thinking footballs.  :D

And now I head off to sleep with a fiendishly delighted moodlet.

They look like larvae to me when they wiggle and squirm. But I guess we should be glad that they can be put into a crib after taking care of their needs because in other games such as Virtual Villagers and Virtual Families they stay stuck to their Mother's body while they are infants and that lasts for many game hours. It was bad enough when there was one baby, but when they had twins or triplets it looked really bad.

Yep 2 game years is a long time for the mother not to be able to work! P.S. I love those games!

All I know is that the color of the blanket is permanent. We can't change it by mods. However let me ask a friend who is expert in fabric re-coloring.

What's the baby blanket?

It's the blanket newborn infants are wrapped in before they age to toddler.  Pink for girls, blue for boys.

I actually preferred the babies in sims2. I dont like the baby blanket, it looks funny.
anyway I hope this isnt "off topic" but couldn't see it in any of the articles and still getting used to the forums.
Is it possible to bathe the newborn baby? I know in sims2 you can do it in the sink but haven't been able to so far
in sims3 anyone know?

Nope, sims can not bathe the baby, you can not even bathe the toddler in a bath!
