Can you breed a Mare with a Unicorn not under your control?
« on: February 18, 2012, 08:20:33 AM »
So my Mare is currently maxed out relationship with the Unicorn. I know he's a Male from the Tail and the Beard, the Romantic Interaction of 'Try for a Foal' also appears. I own both of the Fishing Spots in Hidden Springs and have placed a Horse Stall at Louie Falls which is where he often appears. When I select the Try for a Foal it follows through and the nuzzle part works, the + Relationship symbol and then nothing. They don't go to the Stall.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or can Horses only breed on your Home Lot and at the Equestrian Centre? It's going to be really hard to get the Unicorn to my Home Lot ever and he hardly spawns at Meadow Beach, I've seen him twice there. That and Hidden Springs is a nightmare for Wild Horses, the two Ponds are so close yet they have to go so far to travel between them.

Is the only solution to just adopt the Unicorn?

In my experience, breeding the horses is really difficult (except taking them to the equestrian center)...a lot of times my horse and unicorn would "try for foal" and it would cancel partway through.  Maybe just keep trying?

I wanted to point out, though, that the beard on the unicorn doesn't necessarily mean it's a male.  My first unicorn was a female, and I bred her with a regular horse, and they had a female unicorn that has a beard, lol.  So, who knows?

He is a male and on the forum we've come to the conclusion that all the Wild Unicorns with Beards are male. When you edit the Unicorns Saddle there is a tick box to use a beard, at that point I guess it is just an accessory? I gave up and had it move in, I didn't have much time as one of my Sims BF's for the Unicorn Challenge was a Dog who is 48 Days old. Thanks for the advice anyway though!  :)
