Chapter 9 - Pastry NeurosisSettling into raising a child becomes ever so routine...or so I thought. By the time she was 3, we'd spend my days off talking about how to properly conduct oneself while wearing a suit...
I'd take time to make sure I could stay fit, not that I needed much help but from time to time I found myself drawn to just working out for a little bit.
Without his band...Jon would spend time jamming on his guitar while talking to the birds which I found darling and Black Forest just loved it.
Before I knew it, it was my birthday again. I came home from work and there wasn't a birthday cake or a party planned for me, I just got this feeling...
I knew my suspicions were correct when I pulled a noisemaker out of my sweet little tushie to celebrate.
My birthday heralded in the birthday of our little Toddler Kayke...as much as I didn't want her to get any bigger, it couldn't be helped.
We had our own little birthday party with her father and the butler and she made her wish...
Then there she was! Black Forest Kayke...Child Sim...and she wasn't too impressed by growing up without pants.
Black Forest Kayke, she looks like a curious mixture of both me and Jon for some reason.
It was however Jon who noticed that due to not having as much time as a toddler really needs with their parents, she had developed a trait that was quite unexpected...in fact, the 2nd generation Kayke heir was indeed actually neurotic. She seemed alright but it was a tricky thing...
Thankfully, she took after her father and was quite artistic and would spend hours in her room painting to avoid dealing with people.
I couldn't figure out what had gone wrong! My only heir! A beautiful baby girl..with neurotic tendancies! I think this is why...I myself suffered a mid-life crisis. A full adult! A taxing job! And a scary crazy daughter!
...and I'm not quite sure I didn't lose my mind as well because then I saw a unicorn outside. My mother might be a rock, but you'd at least think she'd warn me that becoming immortal would be so hard. And potentially make you crazy.
I think it is important to try even of you wish your life was different and your daughter freaks out if you leave dishes on the table...to have regular calm family breakfasts.
Angel: Are you enjoying your French Toast Forest darling?
Black Forest: OMNOMNOMNOMGRROMNOM
Jon: Let her eat honey, if she starts talking she'll worry about taking a bath again and mysteriously lose her pants...
Angel: But..
Jon: Shhhh
Sometimes I'd watch her sleeping, I hope she dreamed about lovely things like art seeing as it seemed she loved it so much.
The only thing we asked of her was to make sure she continued to get good grades in school...and while she never looked particularly pleased about it, I never had the chance to ask her about it because work got even more demanding.
I'd bring home treats, including Angel cake from work and due to my popularity as a cook growing...we'd also get beautiful free gifts and eventually I had a dream kitchen!
Tune in next time to see how Angel gets over her mid-life crisis! *Comments Welcomed, Appreciated, And Always Read - Apparently...Black Forest didn't age up 'well' where I could choose another trait for her in childhood, and that's how she ended up neurotic. Now thankfully? I thought it was awesome. I've been playing the sims for like 11 or 12 years or so and I've never had a child behave like this child. Not quite as scary as an insane child, but very detached and penchant for walking around looking at people spooky like. It really was strange cuz Angel just really seemed depressed after it all then when she had a break down...shortly after she saw that unicorn and I laughed so hard. Its just a very strange household, seriously...
