The Cake (Kayke) Dynasty - Chapter 8: New Family Life
« Reply #47 on: April 18, 2012, 12:03:02 PM »
Chapter 8 - New Family Life

I loved being a mama...really honestly. Watching her closely when she'd have conversations with her best friend...Cheri...Black Forest was unique indeed.

Overtime, Jon aged up far faster than we expected. He'd spend so much time painting, eventually he did go crosseyed...

But even when his hair finally turned white, he still had his good looks and his kickin' fashion of course. He was prepared to be a good stay at home papa.

Black Forest seemed to be more artistically inclined like her father...she'd spend lots of time playing with her Xylophone.

I spent alot of time cooking at the restaurant so we had to hire a Butler...just to keep the house clean.

With a Butler, Jon had time to go out and pursue his musical dreams and he'd go to the park to perform for folks.

I had time to go out and talk some more to...Mom about life and her snack cake grandchild.

Jon had quite the following when he'd go out to perform near the theatre, everybody remembered what he was like in his prime.

But no matter what...he'd always get home in time to see his little Princess Black Forest, and take care of him. (The Butler loved Electronica and Jon would always have to turn off the radios in the house to preserve his sanity)

And I...well I spent alot of time at work, learning to be a better cook so our...'dates' started getting later and later but he'd wait up for me.

We'd go through Butlers like potted plants, there was always a new one and Jon did his...Charismatic thing and would charm them...

Butler: Ahh yes, Mister Kayke sir...I've already told the Missus but it does look like it might rain today so you may want to stay indoors...
Jon: ...uh hunh...what's rain?

So life did seem very good...normal even...with a tiny toddler, a retired rockstar husband and...a Butler to make pancakes as I experimented with learning new dishes and becoming a better cook...

Tune in next time to see more about Black Forest!

*Comments Welcomed, Appreciated, And Always Read - Okay...this chapter is filler but it is very accurate in so much as they did NOT spend alot of time with Black Forest when she was a toddler...Angel had to work very hard to get promoted at work and Jon...well he was painting pictures and making money as well so...Black Forest as a toddler did spend more time with the different Butlers and her Imaginary Friend.

Ah, the life of the second-gen child. Without the 16million grand-relatives, they end up just a little lonely.
That said, I'm glad to see another update!

The Cake (Kayke) Dynasty - Chapter 9: Pastry Neurosis

Chapter 9 - Pastry Neurosis

Settling into raising a child becomes ever so routine...or so I thought. By the time she was 3, we'd spend my days off talking about how to properly conduct oneself while wearing a suit...

I'd take time to make sure I could stay fit, not that I needed much help but from time to time I found myself drawn to just working out for a little bit.

Without his band...Jon would spend time jamming on his guitar while talking to the birds which I found darling and Black Forest just loved it.

Before I knew it, it was my birthday again. I came home from work and there wasn't a birthday cake or a party planned for me, I just got this feeling...

I knew my suspicions were correct when I pulled a noisemaker out of my sweet little tushie to celebrate.

My birthday heralded in the birthday of our little Toddler Kayke...as much as I didn't want her to get any bigger, it couldn't be helped.

We had our own little birthday party with her father and the butler and she made her wish...

Then there she was! Black Forest Kayke...Child Sim...and she wasn't too impressed by growing up without pants.

Black Forest Kayke, she looks like a curious mixture of both me and Jon for some reason.

It was however Jon who noticed that due to not having as much time as a toddler really needs with their parents, she had developed a trait that was quite unexpected...in fact, the 2nd generation Kayke heir was indeed actually neurotic. She seemed alright but it was a tricky thing...

Thankfully, she took after her father and was quite artistic and would spend hours in her room painting to avoid dealing with people.

I couldn't figure out what had gone wrong! My only heir! A beautiful baby girl..with neurotic tendancies! I think this is why...I myself suffered a mid-life crisis. A full adult! A taxing job! And a scary crazy daughter!

...and I'm not quite sure I didn't lose my mind as well because then I saw a unicorn outside. My mother might be a rock, but you'd at least think she'd warn me that becoming immortal would be so hard. And potentially make you crazy.

I think it is important to try even of you wish your life was different and your daughter freaks out if you leave dishes on the table...to have regular calm family breakfasts.

Angel: Are you enjoying your French Toast Forest darling?
Black Forest: OMNOMNOMNOMGRROMNOM
Jon: Let her eat honey, if she starts talking she'll worry about taking a bath again and mysteriously lose her pants...
Angel: But..
Jon: Shhhh

Sometimes I'd watch her sleeping, I hope she dreamed about lovely things like art seeing as it seemed she loved it so much.

The only thing we asked of her was to make sure she continued to get good grades in school...and while she never looked particularly pleased about it, I never had the chance to ask her about it because work got even more demanding.

I'd bring home treats, including Angel cake from work and due to my popularity as a cook growing...we'd also get beautiful free gifts and eventually I had a dream kitchen!

Tune in next time to see how Angel gets over her mid-life crisis!

*Comments Welcomed, Appreciated, And Always Read - Apparently...Black Forest didn't age up 'well' where I could choose another trait for her in childhood, and that's how she ended up neurotic. Now thankfully? I thought it was awesome. I've been playing the sims for like 11 or 12 years or so and I've never had a child behave like this child. Not quite as scary as an insane child, but very detached and penchant for walking around looking at people spooky like. It really was strange cuz Angel just really seemed depressed after it all then when she had a break down...shortly after she saw that unicorn and I laughed so hard. Its just a very strange household, seriously...

Don't worry Angel!  Being neurotic is far from the worst that could happen.

She's adorable! Also, is it odd that I really like Neurotic sims? Maybe I just like freakouts followed by a nice tranquil moodlet. And a series of fulfillable wishes.

I love this Dynasty. I love how there's a theme and colours and all, it's so fun! And the writing is superb, really. That little pun about "how to properly conduct oneself while wearing a suit" really got me.

I like this dynasty because it is unique and you can tell how much effort you have put into your characters and the storytelling.
