Why does the Sims 3 guide only have content for one town?
« on: February 14, 2012, 03:42:59 AM »
OK, I have been wondering about this for a long time. Why does the Carl's Sims 3 guide have content for only one town, Sunset Valley? When are you guys going to write up a guide for the other official towns created by EA?

This seems so incomplete! Thanks!

By the way, I hope I am posting this in the right forum.

There is actually stuff for Riverview in the guide as well and there is an entire post talking about twinbrook somewhere but I'm not entirely certain what happened to it.  I know the Hidden Springs post had a lot of it's information snuck in by posters trying to help people as well as everyone giving a lot of information regarding Appaloosa Plains in it's section of the forum.

It's not on the guide but there is information on the website that we've all pooled together.

All of them are work in progress. I think the reason nothing else is up yet is because it takes so long to do each one and Carl doesn't want to submit it until its complete

Well, I'm working on the Bridgeport Guide, and I moved computers while doing it, so I lost my progress due to not moving everything over correctly, and I might be getting a new one ( :o ). Plus I have to name each skyscraper which can take a while!

Because there's an incredible amount of information in each town to compile and process before you even touch pen to paper (or in this case, finger to keyboard).
As an example:  it took me about a week and a half to write the HELS article.  I had to decide on a format, take the screenshots and go in game to gather up all the stats on the individual items...and that's after having used every single item regularly since it's release (HELS contains most of my favorite items to use).  And that was a small project!  Doing a town could easily burn someone out on the game if they just sat down and did it from start to finish.

My hat is off to anyone undertaking such a project.

So feel free to pm me.

Also, feel free to request a home by PMing me! Always happy to help.

Hey guys I'm taking an extended hiatus... again. I'm out of ideas to build houses and I don't have as much fun designing homes like I used to; it feels more like a chore. So that's where I'll be, I will probably be back sometime. :P
