Maximum band members is 3?

OK, I have a question to ask. I thought the maximum number of members in a band is 4 but when I had 3, that was the maximum! I could not add anymore!

Could I be mistaken? Please clarify this for me!

This may be pointing out the obvious, but are you counting your original Sim that started the band? A band is your Sim plus 3, for a total of 4.

Yes, I am counting my original Sim. So in total, there are 3 band members.When I try to add another one, the option is greyed out and says that I have reached the maximum number of band members.

Does the sim your asking play the same instrument as other band members? I had that happen once and it was because they were playing an instrument just before, that was already part of the band.

I think I know the reason for my problem. At first, I had 2 members in my band. But the other member passed away. So I added another 2 members. But when I tried adding in the 4th member, I could not do so!

No, I don't think that is the problem. All of my Sims can play all the instruments.

OK, I saved my Sim into the library in edit town and started a new game. This time, I could have 4 members in my band.

This is indeed strange. Is it because in the first case, my band mate passed away and the game failed to notice this?
