Nectar: Selling Nectar in Home Town

Hi there,
I have managed to set up a little nectar shop in my home town by choosing a nectar selling register and some nectar shelves... Only problem is that the nectar shelves does not have any nectar in them so currently my nectar shop cannot sell any nectar. I have read somewhere that you are suppose to "set the nectar shelves to sell some nectar". How do you do this. And that this apparently is only possible in debug mode???

Anybody that knows more about this and how to do this?  Any help would be appreciated.  I am quite new to World Adventures.

This is so cool. I didn't even know that was possible. Might be fun to add a special twist to a future rendition of the nectar challenge. Sorry, but I have no information for you on how to achieve your goal, but it definitely sounds promising.

I think you get the debug options from ctrl+shift click? Maybe try that?

I'm not aware specifically about the nectar shelves, but as Samoht said here, ctrl+shift click gives normally the debug interactions for tomb objects. Have 'testingcheatsenabled true' on and then in buy mode ctrl+shift click on the shelves and some commands should appear. Choose then something that sounds suitable, it should work.

You can start shops? Huh? I had no idea... I thought that would only come with a business expansion pack like it did for the Sims 2. Now I wish I could try that!

Yep. Just do Testingcheatsenabled True, then in Buy/Build Mode, Ctrl+Shift click the nectar shelf. Set to Make Buyable. Then select Treasure Content as Nectar - Cheap/Medium/Expensive or Necteaux Amazing Nectar. If you are not satisfied with the price and type of nectar available, set the nectar shelf to Normal, then Make Buyable again. A new nectar will be available.

This method applies to so many other things in Tomb Building, btw.

So, taking this a step further (always thinking of challenge ideas) how would this translate to a party situation? If you invited a bunch of Sims over for a party is their AI such that they would actually buy nectar?

I've no idea. I've never tried that. Do they even taste or buy nectar from the Nectary? My personal Observant perk fails me at times... but not my Meditative Trance Sleep. =D

Ha ha. My money's on "no." And if that's the case then my idea is completely flushed. But, that would just be too cool and would add a really great element to a nectar challenge.

I also had no idea about that and being a true nectar-brewing-holic. I´m now very curious to know if you can sell your own production by filling up the shelves with nectar from your own winecellar?
I think my sims have made about nectar-billionaires but I haven´t found a good way to sell their perfect drops yet as just clicking delete is too boring. A shop would be cool.

I warn you, it's not how you think it is. You can't stock your nectar in a shelf and make it buyable. If you do, you'll lose all the nectar you stocked in the shelf. It'll be replaced with random nectar - default Nectar - Medium. Even if you Make Normal, the same random nectar will be inside your shelf - not your own. You can Take All this nectar, though. So free random cheap nectar.

On a side note... Strange. Testingcheatsenabled gives you option to Clone individual nectars... but when you try, it doesn't actually clone - but move. Defunct cheat.

Thanks.. It works doing cltrl+shift click.. I kept on only trying shift only for some or other reason because I am used that shift only works on the postbox. (On apple Mac, so not sure if it is the same on all platforms).
