Without chests, where do you put your stuff?

Sorry if this has been addressed before, I don't remember seeing anything about it. If you are not allowed to use the WA chests in a game, where and what can you put your stuff in? I mean gems, metals, paintings, diplomas and other things. I know some can go on a wall, but if you don't have much wall space, what do you do? I kinda get annoyed with stuff in their inventory. I'm practicing for "Attack of the clones" and am not allowed to use the chests and their inventory is getting overloaded. I tried the toy box but it won't go in there. I asked Metro and he suggested I ask here.

Basements are great for storing stuff, you can use the display cases for gems and put the diplomas, paintings on the walls. If you want to go with a theme you could even turn a basement into a museum or a trophy room, a study, whatever you like.  If you want you can have the display cases in your house, gems will also place nicely on most surfaces such as end tables, dressers etc.

You could of course get yourself a Sim which holds everything in their inventory while you play everyone else.  I'd think something like a dog or cat would be handy.

I personally like the basement display case idea.  Or I just sell everything except one of each gemstone (usually in heart shape cut, though crystal ball looks nice as well.)

No problem.  I sometimes place gems on an end table or computer desk or even a dresser along with other decor, they can look really pretty on a cute little table next to a vase of flowers.

Yes, but anything in anyone's inventory makes me nuts. Don't know why, but it does lol.

I do too! I have sold everything but one of things, but that one of everything is sitting in the inventory laughing at me haha. Normally I stick everything in the chest, so I've never decorated the home with items, so thanks for the suggestions!

I like using the wooden shelves you can put on the wall - you can put 3-4 on one wall by moving them up and down, and they're great for holding things like gems, metals (you can stack them), trophies, etc.

Couldn't this thread count as stratagy discusion?  If not, I would say check the consignment shop now and then.   You might find the chests there.  If you have Ambitions.

Aside from cameras, and a few gnomes I didn't think any World Adventure things are found at the consignment store.

I have heard people mention finding tents and skill books from WA, and I know I have seen gems/metals from WA in the shop.  I'm fairly certin I saw a chest there before.

Really?  I've seen skill books, and gems etc but never a tent, or chests... I think I better keep a better eye on  the store!  I like those chests.

No. First of all, it's not the actual challenge thread. Second, it's not like Esther is asking "Okay everyone, how do I get my clones into all the houses as fast as possible? Someone answer quickly before Metro catches me asking this." Lol. No, it's just more of a general thing she asked. No biggie.

Yes, there are chests in the consignment store sometimes.  Only reason I know, is my sims came back from vacation and I totally forgot to get a chest and went to the consignment store to sell some things and found one there.  Might have to try this challenge.
