What is the best world/map in Sims3?
« on: January 22, 2012, 10:48:24 PM »
So now I've got all the expansions, and I really dont know what world is the best. I just want to know from everybody about their thoughts. And I'm new to Late Night, that's the last expansion that I installed. Currently I'm on Twinbrook, and I'm tying to put those buildings of Late Night into Twinbrook, but I'm just a noob on Edit Town, so I can't. Lol.  :-\

Welcome to the forums.  I personally like Hidden Springs as a town, I like everything about it.  I'm not a big fan of the late night buildings and I'm not a fan of moving late night buildings into the other towns, it just doesn't look right.

If you are a noob with edit town I know somewhere on the forums there is Sunset Valley redone by one of the users to include late night buildings including film studio, clubs, etc.  I don't know the link (sorry).

:)

Here you go http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php/topic,3159.0.html

Personaly, I prefer Sunset Valley just because I have spent so much time there, I know where to find most of what I am looking for.  I really should give the other towns a chance though.

Thanks Folcon for the link.  Good point Folcan, I like Sunset Valley as well, because it was the first town and we had lots of time to learn where everything is.  I always use it for Carl's challenges.

I've always preferred Sunset Valley, because that is what I know best, but recently I have been playing Appaloosa Plains, and I quite like that one. Everything is nice and close together, so your sim spends less time travelling. You can fit the film studio on the 60x60 lot and don't have to do too much town editing to make other things fit.
Hidden Springs is by far the prettiest. I like the town section of Bridgeport, but I don't like how it is so spread out, and the subways make travelling a lot slower.

Currently my favourite town is Union Cove (Our forum World). If it was EA then it would have to either be Hidden Springs (Store) or Sunset Valley for me. With Appaloosa Plains (Pets) up there next to Twinbrook (Amb).

Oh.. I just read about Union Cove.. I'm sorry because I always jump to the forum, hehe. I want to try it but I'm currently at Twinbrook and just installed Late Night, I like the buildings in Bridgeport.. so I want to merge them like putting buildings in Twinbrook but the size of the buildings in Bridgeport is so big.

And where is the Hidden Spring? I already installed all the expansions but I didn't saw it?

My personal favorite is Sunset Valley 3.1 It's an updated version of the town with clubs and a kids section added to Central Park. All the buildings from pets can be added easily because there are plenty of open lots. I'm sure someone could point you the download. The Sunset Valley townies are like old friends at this point. I enjoy seeing what story progression does with them & that makes it extra fun for me.

I've only ever played in Sunset Valley but I'm taking my legacy round all the towns after every few generations and first up is Riverview in a few weeks! I have a feeling my favourite will be Bridgeport, which is a shame because I'm not able to run it on my current laptop - but there's a small chance I might get a good computer for my birthday in August so you never know! :D I love cities and I watch Curtis Paradis's Let's Play videos on YouTube and that show is set in Bridgeport and I just really, really like it! I think I'll love Hidden Springs too, though, and from what I've seen and heard of it Union Cove sounds absolutely amazing and I am gutted that my laptop can't handle it. If I do get this computer, though, then Union Cove will be the first thing I'll be downloading! :P

Hidden Springs is available at the Store, you have to pay for it. Riverview is also available at the Store, but its free.

My favourite worlds are Sunset Valley and Hidden Springs. Union Cove looks amazing, but its very laggy for me so I tend not to play there. Riverview is good but I'm not a huge fan of Twinbrook or Bridgeport. I haven't really explored Appoloosa Plains yet.

I have a special place in my heart for Union Cove, but my favourite EA worlds are Twinbrook and Appaloosa Plains. They're very well laid out (especially the main town centres) and actually feel like real-life towns to me.

Union Cove is well laid out and beautiful, so that's me number one choice. However, I have a very soft spot for Bridgeport as it reminds me of my youthful days partying in New York and Chicago. So, I have one game in Union Cove and one in Bridgport.

For EA created worlds I would say my favorites are Appaloosa Plains and Hidden Springs.  But hands down Union Cove is my favorite of any world.  It has all the best features of all EA worlds in a beautiful package.  I definitely recommend downloading it and giving it a try!

I have to say that 1. I'm glowing while reading this tread, and 2. I also prefere UC ;D.

If you want city feel outside Bridgeport, I find that Pinocle Point in SV (hill with lots of empty lots and a junkyard) is great to put most of the LN premade buildings, and to have them grouped together, so they actually look nice. But you will need some practice in World Editor to fit them the best way possible.
