Sims can drown if they have the fatigue moodlet and can't get out of the swimming pool fast. Also if their hunger and energy motives are all the way in the red.

I'm really enjoying your story! I was really surprised that Eve and Grace died on their own. Sometimes the game does crazy things. My sims have only died of old age so far. I hope your other sims don't have that happen to them! I can't wait to see if Jack and Nola are able to continue their romance when they grow up. :)

Chapter 8: Ella Elliot with Jack in charge
After Grace's death Jack stepped up and is now in charge!!! I am so scared... What will he do to us? Well, actually I am not that scared because he has been acting differently... well since Nola showed up he is acting... nice.  I never thought "Nice" would be used in the same sentence as Jack Elliot without the word NOT before it...Wow!  I am thrilled I learned a spell last night... it had finally appeared in my book, but honestly it is worthless, when will I ever need to turn metal to stone?!? Anyway, I learned it though and practiced it on some old nails.

As you know Grace would go down to Little Mike's weekly for food and goods... well now that is Joy's job.  We have gone without fresh food for about 3-4 weeks (since Grace died).  So when Joy came back from Little Mike's she was pushing a big wooden cart!  I ran over to here and was shocked at the haul.
"Joy! Did you rob Little Mike?" I joked.
"Heehee! No Ella! I told him about Eve and Grace and he just began giving me everything! Including a little gift for all of us! Here, help me, its quite heavy!" Joy said in pure excitement. I helped unload a big crate. We prided it opened and a little wood burning oven was inside... the one I have heard of that only the riches kids have and you can REALLY make treats on it and sell them!
"For you, from Mike!" Joy said.
"I will get to work selling goodies!" I said and began setting up a table and money jar.

I sold 2 muffins to my neighbor Will White.

MMMMMM! These treats are great!

Then I heard horse hooves coming down the street. I looked up from my table and saw a little white pony galloping down the street with a little girl riding on its  back, wearing a cream colored cloak. She stopped and got off the horse.

Who could that be? I couldn't see her face until she got right in front of me.
"Hello Ella!" She said... I recognized her voice but I couldn't match the name to it...

Then the hood went down... it was NOLA! I hugged her...
"I must see Jackson... where is he?" She said with a smile.
"Inside... but why are you here alone?" I asked her.
"Oh you see I wanted to come back to see you... I was just so lonely back in the inner Kingdom... So I asked father, and he was very reluctant but my mother reminded him of all the guards around this town too look after me so... I came with my horse all the way here." She seem so happy being able to come.
"Well Jack is inside cleaning up from breakfast..."

Nola is back! This is truly grand isn't it! I think we should bring her to the park to play, that's what our plan was for the day once we finished our chores.  I began packing up my baking for the day and got dressed to play.

On our way we said hi to our neighbor Winnie White who was on a walk with her baby sister Willow.

The park was in the middle of the Willow Tree forest... they built a play ground here last year. Now that we are in the hot summer months the playground is nicely shaded and is a real treat to play on.

Here we are! We showed Nola how to play pirates on a ship. She loved it too!

I wonder what they are building.  I climbed off the play ground to inspect the structure. I heard people talking inside. I peeked through a crack in the stones... I saw a fire fighter and a young present women talking.

"We cannot keep this up with all the guards around! We must flee!" Whispered the women.
"How! The guards are all over as soon as we run we will be caught and killed!" I man said. The women softly cried.
"We, must take that risk!  I cannot hide in this construction project any longer! I'm hungry." The women said.
"No, don't!" The man yell. The women bolted out of the room. I ran around the side of the building everyone was starring at her.

She tried to block her face and was sprinting through the forest. Then I realized a marking on her hand... it was a magic symbol the one I found in my book labeled "Kweek Tribe" they were good people but the guards didn't care. Once she was spotted the guards tackled her and one put this metal chain around her neck, that I had also saw in my book... I guess it means you can't use magic when it is on.  I wanted to help. Then something came over me... and odd feeling and everything slowed way down but me... I looked around in shock at the world that had come to a stop... What do I do!!! I panic and thought real hard. I know a spell that switches metal to stone... I never thought it would come in handy but... it might work on this metal that stops your magic when it toachs your neck...

Quickly a whispered a spelled and placed my hands, palms up, and pointed to the object.
"O-RAH-SWEE-FLOP!" And the chain glowed and switched. Then it was back to real time... could they see me cast the spell? I didn't care I ran into a bush, hidden from the guards and watched. The women fought the guards then yelled.
"AUGUST-AH-GOAL" And she broke from the guards.
"VAWN-WAY" She said and a broomstick appeared which she flew away on. I saved her! I SAVED A LIFE!

You know I was wondering the SAME thing, how come a lot of the stories are 1-2 pages and that's after weeks of entries... like Journal of Sterling Rose, I got 10 pages down no problem... Huh... I guess my entries have more writing???

I think its because you post entries more often, I usually post just every Friday with an occasional update on another day.

Hahaha! When I read that this hasn't happened to you or Saltypaws I feel off the chair laughing! What is wrong with my game! And this was NOT part of my story!  Actually the story wasn't even going to be like this at all! But when Eve drown I was shocked and had to re-plan my WHOLE story! Eve and Grace were going to be HUGE contributors and well when they are dead they really can't...

It may be because some parts of the pool are blocked with the rocks so they can't go out (you know how sims stump their feets and can't reach something on ground, same could happen in the pool). Beside that, if they are tired or fatiqued they will drown but you'll have an hour to get them out (yelling and waving as a signal) and of course very red mood.

I'm loving this story and reading it regularly, very creative and unique set up!

Well thank you for the information! I have made another strip of land for the sim to get out of the pool... It was probably from being tired... thanks for reading!

Chapter 9: Ella Elliot
Things have gone very wrong! What is going on?A massive storm as rolled in and in looking very violent...
Mom's boss told her to stay home from work and go to a basement... We all huddled in the basement.

"Down stairs now!" Mom yelled when the ground began shaking very hard and the sky was greenish-gray that flashed black and white like strobe lights...

"Wait but I have to use the bathroom..." Joy said in a panic.
"Good grief Joy! Go, but quickly I am begging you to run!!!" Mom said almost in tears.
"No Joy don't go alone! I am coming with you!" Nola announced.
"No! I can't let you go Princess..." Mom said.
"I have been attacked by raids of warriors... I think I can handle bad weather..." Nola said and grabbed Joy's hand running off.
"Oh no!" Mom said.
"What is it?" I asked frantically.
"WHERE IS JACKSON!"
"Ummm.... Fishing! I will got get him! Stay here!" I yelled and ran out the door. The sky looking worse and worse, the ground shook more and more.

I spotted him...
"JACKKKKKKK!!!!! COME QUICK!!!" I screamed.
"WHAT'S GOING ON?!?!?" He yelled.
"I don't know just come now!" I yelled back... then it started raining fuzz

"JACK!!!" I yelled and he dropped his fishing pole and ran... The fuzz came in a wave growing farther towards us...
Jack began choking on the fluff...
"RUN!!!" I screamed trying not to inhale any of them... I began running back to the house, trying to outrun the fuzz.

Nola and Joy came running into the house followed by Jack. I needed to fix this... This was no storm it was a magic storm...
"Everyone lay down in bed..." Mom said. I laid down and pulled my magic book out from under my pillow I ducked under the covers but it was too dark to read... so I clapped and made a small ball of light, just enough to read.

I only had 1 spell in the book...  I need more!   Then words faded into the book...
To create a breathable air bubble AIRAY-TROW-CRU
how can that help? I need the witch, but I can't go out in the fuzz storm... I will choke... OHHH! I will create an air bubble and go to the mountain... Oh yeah... they left. I must go anyway, they might come back...

I tipped toed out of bed and to the front door.
"AIRAY-TROW-CRU" I whispered the opened the door... I hope this works. The fuzz was thicker this time... I held my breath as long as I could then I took a breath... and it... worked! I made it to the forest without a problem. Then I heard people talking... sounded like... the Witch! then she appeared

"Ahh the little witch is here!" The good witch said.
"What's going on!" I said
"I was just going to ask you that!"
"I don't know!" I said. Then the witch closed her eyes and shivered.
"Oh Ella what have you done!" The witch said.
"What did I do!!!?!?!?!" I screamed.
"You save a bad witches life!!!" The good witch said.
"You save the Queen witch of the Kweek Tribe!"
"I thought they were good!!!" I said...
"Oh no, no dear! They are the worst, meanest witches alive! They want to kill all good magic and rule the world, morals as their slaves! This storm is going to kill off all good magic if you don't stop it..."

"Hee Hee! Good job kido! Wanna come to the dark side?!?!? Hee hee!" The good witch's evil sister said.
"No way!" I said.

She started to yell at me...
"LEAVE HER ALONE!" The good witch boomed
"What do I do?" I asked.
"Use your spell book... We must go now the spirits are calling us back home... Save us Ella!" she said and disappeared ...

To be Continued...
