I think how one plays this game is a matter of preference.  You have extreme players that push their sims to see what they can accomplish, you have your family players that basically strive for real life situations, that is more like I play and your generation players, which I am jealous of, because I can't seem to get past 4 generations and your money making players.  With the sim I have that has the 3mil, I have bought all the most expensive furniture, cars, homes and they still keep pouring in the money.  I just enjoy playing and they have a ton of money trees and are constantly breaking space rocks and always get tiberium.    So as long as you're enjoying the game and playing how you want to play, then that is the important thing.

When I'm done filling the ponds with thousands of fish, what can I do with the remaining money? Anymore ways to waste cash effectively?

Spa Treatments, spend some time getting them all!

My source of income would probably come from 6 working Sims (4 part timers) and from a Mummy that has been fishing Deathfish for eternity(fetches 1.7k per fish average).

Woops. That was decades of weeks ago. Now the mummy is fishing 5.5k per Deathfish average. No wonder I can't ever get rid of my money... and one of the working Sims is retired.

Spa treatments packages can't get rid of enough money. I need something to beat my income... Hmmm... Maybe that's not possible... Maybe I should stop my mummy... but I don't like my Mummy. She's slow. The best thing she can do now is fishing. Nah... I'll leave her to fishing.

Why? It's pretty much an impossibility. You're just not going to find any expense that can keep pace with an extremely rich family. Once you own all the businesses, have bought all the cars, the expensive paintings, statues, etc., etc., there just isn't anything left. The goodie list runs dry and yet the income keeps pouring in.

Guess I'm all out then. If only Sims could gamble or something. That's how I threw money away in Diablo...

Yeah, I especially think owning all the businesses makes you rich.  That's a huge amount of money per week, and there is no expense that can even come close to spend all of it.

You know, I don't even collect the money from all the businesses I own. I think it's not time efficient. 700k from a week of fishing is.

You could buy lots of ambrosia recipes and keep them on a shelf for future generations so they can learn a new recipe. :) Doesn't mean you have to cook it and eat it but that sucks up 12k each time you buy one. :) Just a thought. I, spend my money in a variety of ways (including the vacation home one where it pretty much becomes my storage house where I buy a bunch of junk and leave it there (like the really expensive statues and lights and cars, etc) Hopefully that helps as well. :)

Make an awesome art gallery. and if you have world adventures you can theme it- one area for egypt one area for china one area for france etc. also go to different markets and buy up all of their common relics to make it look like you are a collector of fine arts and such. and of course put random stuff on pedestals to turn them into modern art.

ive always thought the greatest mansion in the world should have a clubhouse in the middle of a pool. like an island.

and if your really that rich make a car gallery in your art room, and fill it up with sick cars that you can find off the exchange.

If only Sims could gamble or something.

Maybe they can't gamble, but good or evil Sims can donate 1000 simoleons a day to the cause of their choice.

Another way to get rid of money might be to invite friends to move in, then evict them with some of the household funds - sort of a charity thing.

Personally, I've never had this problem - not in the game and certainly not in real life! ;D

Lol, I have had this problem in the game. Never in real life though. I think the only way to get rid of all that money would be a cheat, other than that, I think your stuck with it. I wish I had as much money in RL as I do on TS3!

That is a good idea! When you move them out you choose an expensive house for them to move into, which takes money out of your household funds.

Brainstorm...

If all you're looking for is to burn cash, the quickest and simplest thing I can think of would be to buy a bunch of fighter jets (lawn ornament) and keep them in your family inventory.

If any of your sims has the Good trait, he/she can donate to charity over and over again, but that would take quite a while.

Buy a ton of laptop computers and leave them in as many public places as possible.

Go to build mode and continuously resurface the largest floor/wall space in your house, back and forth between two textures.

Do you really like building/rebuilding?  If so, cater to your inner architect/pyromaniac.  Place lots of fireplaces in your home and turn them all on, unattended, while your sims are out.  Delete all exterior doors.  By the time the blaze goes out (and yes, there will be a blaze) there will be lots and lots of destroyed stuff that insurance won't fully cover replacement costs for.

Buy large quantities of the most expensive items at the grocery store.  Throw them all in the garbage.

If all these methods combined somehow cannot keep up with your income, don't be too worried.  As revealed in another thread here, the game limits your household net worth to about 2.1 BILLION SIMOLEONS, so you're nowhere near the playable limit!

Ooo, I know another good money sink.

Have a Sim chop Space Rocks for a couple of weeks. Then give a Heart Shaped cut to all of them. Sell them off for a lower price or make nectar. I managed to lose 800k this way, but I got the money back straight away... or had in converted into networth.

But when you do this you get;
