Sims3 problems I'm experiencing
« on: January 20, 2012, 12:51:26 PM »
Hi there. I've had the Sims 3 for a couple of years now, currently running World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night and Generations on top of the base game. I have no cc or mods, but have items which I have downloaded from the store, so it's all EA stuff.
For a while now my game has been experiencing the freezing issue highlighted in a post on here. That doesn't really bother me, what is bothering me right now is that now my Teenagers and Child (I have 3 teens and one child in my household) will refuse to stay in school. Every time they enter school, they exit, resetting their homework, meaning my model pupils are rapidly losing that status. I've tried contacting EA over it, but they've been no help, saying it's not a bug but a gameplay issue... (same thing surely?!?)
Also, just before this started my sims started vanishing. resetsim fixed this, but it's annoying nonetheless that they suddenly just vanished.

Hopefully someone out there may be able to help with the latter two issues, I'll try resetsim * for the first problem. But then again, with the game playing with the other two bugs I don't really want to play until theres a decent solution that works  :(

This was a common bug a while ago, but I had't heard anything about it for a long time. Are you patched up to the latest version?

I had this bug in my game a long while ago and here's how I fixed it: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/160640.page . Hope it helps  ;). Also, I remember there was a thread about this bug somewhere in this forum, so look for it (sorry, don't remember where it was posted), maybe you will find something useful there too.

Good luck and happy simming  :)

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yeah my game is completely up to date. I'll have a look and see what you did and try it myself. I did add another school to the town in the hope that might work as I'd put loads of families with kids into the game. I'll try deleting the school as you suggested and report back :)

The solution on Frey's link looks reasonable to me.  Also, here's the topic on our Forum about it.

Hi Pam :) Thanks, I tried it and it seemed to work for a while, although the grades for my kids reset themselves :( so my honor roll kids went back down to a C :(

Yeah, that happens. But if you send them to school in a good mood and have them do their homework, it improves quickly. Still, it's better than having them skip school all the time.

True. I might resort to the easy out option soon and just ship them all of to boarding school, but not sure what that'd do to their relationships outside the family
