Thanks Moons, I will give it a try. I'm a bit paranoid after all the trouble I've been having, LOL.

And no, there's no freaking way I'm going to patch to 1.31 now I finally got my game running. Not until I get Showtime anyways (if I ever get it, still not sure if I want it). I can't buy it from the Store because it doesn't support my country anyways, so I have to wait about a month for it to arrive to Chile before I even have to decide. That's the good thing of delays: it gives you enough time to lurke around forums and read about the new little bugs that every EP brings to you before you get it. Thanks for the tip Ricalynn, I had no idea the patch had been released. I always skip the launcher so I haven't given it a chance to ask me to download it.

Thanks for lettingnus know, Ricalynn. I'm probably just going to go ahead and download it when I get home from class. I'll let people know if there are any huge problems, which I'm sure there will be. I actually checked this morning to see if it was up yet, but I guess they only added it later in the day.

Still crashing! After ten minutes, seriously! And it's not due to overheating..

@Ricallyn - I'm downloading it right away if it mentions anything about crashes in the fixes!

Some people are saying that only the Mac patch got released but it is the 1.31 patch and it is causing some mac users to be unable to play the game.  I know none of you guys are Mac so you should be in the clear.

Yea, I couldn't find any for PC.. I usually wait a few days to be aware of bugs and things before downloading anyway, but I am so desperate for a fix to these crashes.. I've even decided that if the patch doesn't fix it, I'm resorting to an 'unmentionable' that not only stops errors that tend to be the root cause of crashing, but that also stops file corruption. (Don't worry, it's very trusted and I've done a lot of research to make sure of that :) ) But yea, that's how desperate I am. I don't want this legacy to end/take forever like the last one did!

I'm sorry that didn't work for you, Fez! Maybe the patch will help. Hopefully it comes out for PC soon.

We know without a shadow of a doubt the patch will be here by Tuesday night your time Fez.  I'll keep my eyes out to look at patch notes for you but I'm betting they are not releasing them until Tuesday when Showtime comes out.

I'm sorry it didn't work Fez. I hope the patch fixes it  :) or the unmentionable... I think I know which one you're talking about. I tried it as well to fix my crashes and it didn't work, but I'm starting to think that your issues and mine are not caused by the same problem, so maybe it will help you.

Thanks for your support, everyone. :) I have a sneaking suspicion it's just my machine giving in. Wouldn't be a surprise - this thing is almost six/seven years old! I just really wanted to play at least until August when I get my new desktop. Oh well, fingers crossed for the patch!

@Frey - Can you PM me which one you're talking about? I really only want to resort to something like that if there's a relatively high chance it'll make a difference, otherwise it's just using up my laptop's much needed memory. :(

Sorry to double-post, but the new patch is available for PC  :). I just launched the game and the launcher asked me to install it. I won't, but I was letting you know just in case you want to do it, Fez. Good luck!

I'm going to wait a bit and find out more about any new bugs, etc. before I patch, just in case. :)

Wise decision  ;). I'm doing the same here.

Hey Moons, I was thinking, maybe you should post the info about the EP's updating thing in the technical help board and maybe a mod could sticky it (unless it's already there but I haven't seen it?). This actually worked when nothing else did and I bet we're not the only two people having this same problem.  :)

I went ahead and installed it.. :P I was able to play for a few hours before my laptop crashed, but it crashed due to overheating, not any error in the game! :D

Good idea. I'll look for the patches on the official site, though. Some people may think there are risks if they download it from another site. I've been having crashing again, though. However, the only reasons I get are "Insufficient graphics card," which is definitely not the case. I play with texture and Sim detail maxed and everything else about medium. I hadn't had any problems until after the 1.29 patch.
