I finished my Sunset Valley takeover on week 2, day 6 (13 days).  Looks like Nutella and I are tied.

I'm going to mark myself as DNF for this challenge. It's definitely finishable with the strategy I used but I can't maintain enough interest to completely fill up Sunset Valley.

Finished on Week 3 day 5, so 19 days. Was easier than I thought, but a bit tedious.

Grats!  I was actually thinking you might finish it in 12 days :)

Thanks.  No way could I finish in 12 days, 13 was hard enough.  Congrats to you too on getting 13 days :)  You're definitely off to a great start with these challenges.

I'm in the same boat.  I *thought* I had a strategy that'd work.... couldn't get a lot of the things that I needed to happen to happen though.  Still plugging at it... you can't take over the world if you dnf :)

Try not to look at doing the challenge to beat other people's scores, but rather as a challenge to yourself. If you go into it solely to beat others, unless you have a brilliant strategy, you will find yourself shot down. But if you go into it as something fun to do to challenge yourself, you will enjoy it much more.  I go into them thinking I have a great idea, only to find out it was a mediocre idea, but I usually come away with some knowledge about some aspect of the game that I didn't previously have and the main thing is I just about always enjoy the experience.

I find that I look at the scores as well , but you bring up a great point, challenge yourself and see what happens.  I love this idea and I already want to turn ON story progression once its all done and see what happens with all the clones (since my founding clones were 2 guys and 2 girls) and see who hooks up with who, who has babies, who doesn't, etc.  I'm going away from my (Simming) computer for ten days (ugh!)  So I'll have to finish and see what happens when I'm done.

and wowzers to the people getting LOW scores.  I don't think I'm getting that low, love to hear how its done.

:)

Still testing a few things on a practice game currently as I know there has to be a better way to do it than the one I'd chosen!  I'm currently struggling with part of my tactics as they don't seem to be working out as well as I'd hoped.  I know I'll be kicking myself once I find out the tactic I managed to overlook.

Managed to get a big head start on the real life project that was stealing my Sim time this week though, so with any luck I'll be getting some quality time with my pixelated families again :)

Arghh, I left off playing my clone challenge game for a bit because it was continually freezing in such a way that I had to shut down the program, using ctl/alt/delete. I worked on a few other games and the rewards challenge for a bit, now for some reason, my clone file wont even load. Any suggestions on how to get it to start? It starts to load, then the bar just stops at about 90%, no matter how long I leave it, when I come back it's at the same point. I don't really want to start another file because I thought I was doing really well with that one.

*edit* The game finally loaded, but it is still freezing a couple of minutes into play. Not sure if I can stand to continue, having to shut down and restart continually as I have only filled about half the houses with clones!

Dang this was a hard challenge.  I almost quit more than once!  Definitely a challenge that you can improve on as you move through it.  And for the first time I see I'm not on the bottom of the list so  ;D

Okay, I looked everywhere I could think of and read this entire thread and I can't find the answer anywhere. Can anyone tell me, when you use the Clone Voucher does the child Clone have the same traits as the adult or can you pick them?

The child comes with as many traits as his/her age allows...I believe it's three. They are the traits of the sim you cloned. You will get to choose the other traits when aging up.
