  • Enable Story Progression must be unchecked while playing your file (forgetting to do this will not disqualify you, but may result in your Sims moving out of town. That's not good.).
Does that mean we could leave story progression checked, or is it only okay if we forgot to uncheck?

If you leave story progression on, the Sims you move into the empty houses may move out or marry non-clones. This will make your job of filling up the town with clones a lot harder

Twinmum, of course I wouldn't risk my score doing that  :). I'm talking about when you haven't moved any clones into the empty lots yet. ( i.e you leave story progression checked and you uncheck it when you started the moving processes)

I take that rule to mean that when you move someone out, you have to keep the original household (and whoever lives their at the time) as the active household. So if you moved Sim 3 out and left Sims 1,2, 4 and 5 in the original house, when it asks which is to be the active household, you have to stick with the house containing 1,2, 4 and 5 and Sim 3 moves out never to be played again.

Correct.

I have added a rule after receiving a PM...

  • You may not use Edit Town to bulldoze larger lots to make 2 smaller lots.

This challenge is a speedrace and you'd actually be hurting yourself by wanting to put more clones in more smaller homes because you'd need to come up with more Happiness Points to buy more vouchers. So, everyone needs to play SV AS IS. That's key. We're running a race and everyone needs to be on the same track.

So, just to be sure that I'm correct about how I understand the rule and what has been discussed about it:
Quote
  • You may not change the active household.

This means that:

At the end of the challenge, my Sims will still be living on the very same lot where the 4 CAS Sims moved in when I started, right?
In "picture", this means that whenever I move out a Sim into another home, I must always keep the "Make active household" box ticked on the left panel of the Move screen (see below).

But, there is no rule/restriction on which Sims move out and which ones stay on this lot (others than valid ownership of RH/venue, and "move out" to a specific home and not "kick out").

After doing some extensive testing, BellaClo brought to my attention some real problems with the following rule...

  • Once you attain full ownership of any building or have purchased and fully upgraded any property, you may move out two Young Adult household members.

It's the number that is the problem. If you purchase ALL venues and upgrade ALL properties in SV, no matter what expansions you have installed, then you will have a specific number of Sims/Clones you can move out based on that rule of 2. Bottom line — now it has been changed to 3. Problem solved. Thank you, BellaClo.

I'm confused. I don't see how it is a problem? Didn't it just mean that we moved them out as necessary once we had purchased all the properties? Doesn't upping it to three just make it take even longer? I've started play-testing, and I played all day yesterday, and guess how much sim time elapsed? 11 days. Unless we are allowed to move each of the three sims in to separate houses? We never got a clear yes or no on that one.

Yes, once you have full ownership of a RH or fully upgraded Venue, you can move out 3 YA Sims

at once or later (see posts #5 & 6)
together or separately (see posts # 66 & 67)

I'm on my mobile so it's not easy to find back the post where this has been covered, but this is the answer you're looking for. So it shouldn't make the challenge longer than what it's going to be.

Ok, I'm probably going to annoy someone but I need to recap for my own sanity.  The more that gets written, the more confusing it is.

1.  When all requirements are met, (things bought, upgraded, etc.), you MAY move out one to three Sims, who MAY be your original team or MAY be clones.  Right?  And this holds true EACH TIME the requirements are met.  Right?

2.  You do not HAVE TO move out that many but instead may move out only one.

3.  As long as there is ONE of the original team leading the active household, you are still playing the original active household.

4.  Question:  Can the original household move to a new house if they remain the active household?  Let's say you are in a one bedroom and now want a four bedroom, can you make the move?
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

I don't think your questions are annoying at all Joria ;) A recap is always good.

1. Correct.
2. Correct
3. No, I don't think it's required. (See my post with the picture of the Move panel).
4. I don't think we can move to another house (see same post). Yet, I don't see any reason why the complete household couldn't move to another house either, but that's up to Metro to decide. But is you ask me, I'm not sure there is any reason to want to move either...

Correct. As long as you move the complete household to a new house that is fine. Of course by doing so you simply make the house you're moving out of vacant and it will need to have a clone put in there for you to finish anyway.

Couldn't you just leave one clone behind when you move the household?
I am really confused about who consists of the household and who must remain in the household?

Then I'll just make it simple for everyone and insist you always play your original house.

Just to clarify we need to stay in our original house with our four Sims that we created right at the beginning of the game.

Also when we upgrade a property or buy a building we can move three Young adult clones out and they can move to three separate empty properties.
