@Nutella: Yes, the Trees of Prosperity come with Lunar Lakes.  They are very nice to have.  Congratulations on being able to make all the happiness points without them!

My biggest trick to get the happiness points was gardening.  I had all my clones take gardening class, then the next day after they age up to YA i have them join the gardening career.  Then I would sell $30 worth of produce (harvest from SV), get them up to career level 2.  Most of the time you will get the wish to level gardening skill, worth about 1000 points.  Then sell more product for the 2nd level $75 worth of produce, then get more improve gardening skill wish.  The main part was where you get to the point of the reach gardening career level 5, which is worth 1500 points - i just sell the deathfish book i harvested.  :)  The main thing here is make sure alll your clones have the gardening career before doing that, since selling one set of produce works for the whole family.

My guitar sim was also feeding and harvesting the omni plant by science center everyday.  Some days no harvest, and at the 2nd week, somehow a wild horse ate that omni plant ... luckily i had enough books stored in my family inventory lol.

As for cooking, if you dont' have oven in your house, take a cooking class -- the buy an oven wish will always pop up.  Buy the oven get the points, then sell it.  Also prepare a meal wish will pop up too.  And sometimes when you go prepare a meal, you will get the improve cooking skill wish.

For fishing, go fish in park with no bait.  Soon you will get the "find out minnow bait" or "find out goldfish bait" wish pops up.

For logic, if you take a class in logic, you will always get buy a telescope or buy a chess table or buy a chemistry station wish.  Fulfilling those is easy.  Also sometimes when you sit on the chess table, you will get improve logic skill wish.

For sculpting, after you get skill 1, make sure you watch the leveling bar.  When you are close to leveling, stop him and go do something else, like play chess and stuff.  Sooner or later the improve sculpting skill wish will appear and then you can go back to leveling sculpting.

Nice info, Blackrosea. How you chose to employ pets right off the bat was smart.

I have updated the HOF thread with links to Nutella's and ClayMask's posts. Well done to both of you.

I used the Trees of Prosperity to spawn, and in some cases satisfy, these same wishes.  I didn't do the gardening trick, but it sounds like it worked well.

Okay, at least with the electric guitar, the song "I won't if you will" cancels automatically if you queue it up. I do not believe it does with a regular guitar. So, if you queue up 8 Perform interactions of that song, your Sim will burn through them in minutes and get full credit for 8 performances which will in turn pump up the tip amounts.

I never knew that one! I tediously managed 4 sims at a time cueing up 'yes mam I do' or whatever that level 5 song is called!!! That would have made this WHOLE challenge go a LOT faster! I bought about half a lot full of trees of prosperity, 1 space apart to ensure access, and had each clone head straight for the purple ones until they had lvl 5 guitar. If they had to wait, they just played/jammed until there were more.

I also didn't know that there as a subway on the Sportsbar. I was under the impression that copying and pasting lots from other towns was forbidden, as I had already asked if we could do this with houses (as there is a cheaper one somewhere than the swamper) otherwise I'd have used the tiny lot from bridgeport with the subway on it. It didn't matter all that much - I just placed a subway on stoney falls on day 1.

Congratulations Nutella and Claymask! I still can't fathom how you manage to move out more than 4 clones per day and keep the production line going - I figured the most possible was 4 (clealy I'm taking a narrow view, but for the life of me can't see how to make it work!). Apart from the first day (which if you managed to get 4 clones, the most you can move out is 3, because you can't leave children/teens alone in the household) I moved out 4 every day until the final day, in which I moved out 7.

Yeah I racked up the performances the hard way too Chuckles but aside from the brain numbing inconvenience of doing it the hard way I figured the end result was pretty much the same.

Some of my clones got their happiness from training a point in charisma and then jamming outside the theatre (in fact, that's exactly what you can see in my picture above). It would continually fire wishes to "jam with sim X" so as a big crowd gathered there would be more and more people to ask to join. I just asked them, waited until they'd started playing and then told them to take a break so that they could get suggested again.

It was a really fun concept though, even if near the finish you were mentally willing the pain to just stop :P

For those of you who used tutoring, what purpose does that serve?  I guess I don't know the benefits of tutoring.   Also, does having ambitious as a trait make the LTHP for the Swimming in Cash wish worth more?

I was using the Swimming in Cash LTW but I wasn't able to figure out how to get the 8-10 thousand extra LTHP points earned for the clones in less than 24 hours.

Great tips everyone...thanks for sharing!

I didn't use tutoring, but I do know that it raises the grade of the child, allowing them have an A without actually going to school.  This allows their aging up trait to be chosen.  Ambitious does make the LTW Swimming in Cash worth 40k happiness instead of 35, and other wishes worth a bit more.

yes if you tutor the child or teen to an "A", when you age them up you get to pick a trait.  Which is important for my strategy, must have the trait "ambitious".  You only need to tutor them once, i didn't care about what other 4 traits they have, as long as they have the ambitious trait.  I didn't use Swimming in Cash LTW, but with the fishing LTW, without ambitous it is worth 32500, with ambitious it is worth 37000.  So i just needed to get 8k happiness points vs 12.5k happiness points.

Thanks...I may have to redo this challenge with all the new tricks I have learned and see if I can get closer to the winning scores.

Heh, when I saw Nutella's 13 come out early on, I was quite stunned as well as when doing the challenge I pretty much thought of it in the same way - move out 4 every day until the final day.
If I'm not wrong you can do 7 a day by doing something like this: adult 1 uses Clone Voucher, gets child 1. Adult 1 moves out, then Adult 2 uses Clone Voucher, etc...
To start the process you'd want three of the original guys to first make clones. Then after that as a group of 7 they make clones and so on. (The 3 original Sims need 90k points total for this.)

@Drift9999, yes you could move out 7 each day with Claymask's strategy, i don't think i could move 7 with my strategy.  I needed 2 original sims to stay behind, one to make money and one to tutor.

Yeah, the only change I'd need to make to my strategy to move out seven per day would be start making their LTWs Living in the Lap of Luxury, or have pre-bought items stored in the family inventory to sell in order to satisfy their LTWs.  Of course, each of these changes has a drawback attached to it. And you obviously couldn't do driving lessons, which is something I mostly stopped by the time I was moving out six per day.  Without any changes the maximum I could move out per day is six, which is the number I was moving out during the final days (except the last day).  Also, if I went with the way you suggested Drift, I think that it would be longer before I could start moving out clones initially, since I would need to raise all the money before I could move out any clones, and also reach 90k happiness with each of them.  It would be interesting to find out how fast it could be completed this way, though.

Edit:  I guess instead of waiting, you could start out just moving out one of your initial four and then the first four clones, after the clones clone themselves.  Then you could clone the other three again and move them out when they are ready for it.  You'd still need to make the changes I mentioned that would need to be made for my strategy, though, since this was basically my strategy except that I moved out two of the initial clones instead of one., as moving out only one and making the mentioned changes seemed too hard to me.

It's still not quite clicking for me, but I think if I tried it out I might be able to see how it works. I'm still confused by the fact that you need to have at least 2 birthdays per clone, and there's an 8 person limit on the household. Basically you need at least 90k happiness points in one day to make it work?

I think what Drift is saying (please correct me if I'm wrong, Drift) is you wouldn't move out any clones until you had all seven set up, but since you would need to clone them twice and also accumulate all money needed for the challenge before moving out your originals, I'd imagine you'd have to start moving them out later than you would if you started moving them out after cloning them only once.  If you did what I said you would be moving out four clones per day until the first generation group was ready for recloning, and the household had as much money as was needed for the rest of the challenge.

Essentially, yes. What I thought of was having four sims, say A, B, C and D buy their first clone voucher and clone into E, F, G and H. I'll have one of the starters, D, use the consignment store, miner and XL display case to create compendium to make the money (this can be done within 3 days, I think). Once ready, move out D, and have A, B, C, E, F, G and H create the next generation. I used Swimming in Cash which can be fulfilled at the drop of a hat by buying something expensive and selling it immediately once all of them aged up to YA.

There are 54 or 55 lots you need to fill in the end, I think, so if you only move out 4 per day, the best you can hope for is a score of around 14 or 15. (I didn't think of moving out more than 4 during the challenge, and I think for two of the generations failed to get the points in 24h; used driving but it seemed to get bugged at times.) However, if you can move out 7, it's achievable in 8 days plus the time taken to set up; I'm not sure if that's possible within 5 days or fewer, though.
