Changing Patterns And Colours In Build Mode
« on: January 16, 2012, 10:30:00 PM »
In the past when selecting wallpapers, flooring and furniture designs I've always hit the random button. It drives me crazy pushing that button over and over to get what I want and it takes ages.  >:( I read somewhere that there is a way to choose what patterns and colours you want, trouble is I can't remember where I found it or how to do it.  :( Can someone help me with this please? I'm about to start a new family and I don't really want to go through the whole random process in build mode again.

Press "R" to change the cursor, then click on the item you want to change to open up "Create a Style". It is a panel on the right with color changing options. It's got several options, like patterns and colors.

Does the "R" need to be upper or lower case or does it not matter? Do I do this before I buy the object or after?

After, and only press the R button. Nothing else. It will change the cursor.

Alternately, there's a little button shape like an easel on the left of the buy/build mode control panel. Just click it once, and click the object you'd like to recolour.  :)
