Changing the music station for wall speakers
« on: January 13, 2012, 09:40:39 PM »
Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong place, didn't know where else to go.

Anyway I was building my first (dance) club the other day and I wanted to upload it to the swap shop. I sent a sim in there to test it to make sure everything worked. I only had those wall speakers to play music, and at the moment they were playing classical music. I clicked on them to try and change the station, but there wasn't an option. Anyone know how to fix this?
If at first you don't succeed, call it version 1.0.

Yes, in Buy Mode, you go Ctrl+Click (or Ctrl+Shift+Click, I'm not 100% sure which) on the speaker and a pie menu with options comes up. Then go Change Music (or something similar) and pick a station.

Thank you so much for posting this... I was getting so frustrated with classic music at the dance clubs!!

YAY!

Edit to Add - it is Ctrl+Shift+Click to change it.  :D

Wall Speaker Only Plays Classical Music
« Reply #3 on: January 23, 2012, 04:06:32 AM »
Exactly as the title says, that's the problem I'm having. I revamped the Red Rendevous in Twinbrook into a dance club and added wall speakers for the music. It's going great so far except that said speakers play classical music, not cool for a dance club. My Sims can't seem to able to change the type of music it plays, I tried changing it in build mode (Which is where I found the speaker, under community lots) but the option doesn't appear to be there so I'm pretty stumped, lol. Can it be changed or do I need to use a different speaker? How do I get dance music to play in the club for the dancefloor? Some help would be great.  :)

I'm sure we recently had a topic about this.  If anyone can provide a link, I'll merge the two topics.

Classical music is the default setting for the wall speakers. You can change this by entering build/buy mode on this lot, and ctr+shift+click the speaker. You should see an option to change the music to something else than classical.

I finally found the topic you were talking about Pam, it took me quite a while, (It was right at the top too! orz) turns out it was in the build section.  :-[ I wasn't sure whether to make this topic there or here actually. ^^; This is it

Thanks Pam and Bella and sorry Pam, I probably should have looked in the build section of the forums before posting this but I kind of forgot. ^^;

If you mean the quote about correcting people and moving things, that came from Sportsfan when I hit the 10,000 post mark.  I thought it was so funny that I added it to my signature.  ;D
