Wall covering for the outside of the house
« on: January 07, 2012, 11:41:41 AM »
I was just wondering what wall coverings (wallpaper, paint, etc) are good for the outside of the wall on a house. I've been getting into building more at the moment, but I can never find anything good for the outside walls.

Thanks in advance.  :)
If at first you don't succeed, call it version 1.0.

I always like to use the siding and experiment with different colors. Or I'll do the same with the bricks.

I think it depends on what style of the house. For example, medieval style comes (good) with woods, rocks and bricks (something that makes it "old"). But with modern style, a solid (black and white always good for me) color would turns out great, I think. Also, take a look at the terrain cover the house, too.

Above all else, just keep doing that (i mean the "painting job") and some research about what you're looking for (if you dont know where to start, there's a wiki-site called www.google.com). I believe, you will improve at this shortly. Good lucks and happy simming :D.

Beyond a solid color, if you look in Create-A-Style, there are patterns under Paint and Masonry that I'd call "semi-solid" - just enough variation to look like concrete or stucco.

That's search engine, actually...not a wiki-site.

Although, I will say that this is sound advice none the less.  Google Images has been infinitely helpful in figuring out how to decorate certain styles of houses.

I know, but google has (almost) everything we need. So personally, I like to call it a wiki-site ;)
