Union Cove Email Notices and New Tutorials
« on: January 06, 2012, 02:23:15 PM »
I'm putting this first for folks registering after download UC and visitors who don't come here frequently. It is mentioned on the download page, but deserves a repeat. If you'd like to get email notification when Union Cove is updated in the future, make sure to check under the notifications area of your profile settings 'Receive forum newsletters, announcements and important notifications by email.' It is not a feature we abuse. I've only sent two out in the 2 and a half years we've been here. This is a good use for it, to let infrequent visitors know when to come back and get an updated version of the world. As long as you've made a single post, your account will remain active into the future. It is expected that there will be improvements made to speed and stability, while of course providing any relevant new content related to the upcoming Showtime Expansion Pack.

Now, on to the new content. As you know, I've been given the opportunity to publish a lot of new building articles lately. Today's submission again comes from Norma Blackburn, aka Twinmum. This whopper covers Multiple Level homes and Basements and Beginner/Advanced Staircases. Have a look and you just might learn something new :)

Thank you Carl and Twinmum for the information. Every time I build a house, my Sims get that "incomplete" moodlet and that I don't have the proper flooring. This could really help a lot.

Thank you, Carl.  Bookmarked!

Norma, I am so envious of your brain!  How you figured all this out is beyond me and makes it so much easier to build unique things.  Thank you so much!

Thanks! I had no idea you could build stairs to the basement under another set of stairs. Very useful!

I read lots, and I do mean LOTS of tutorials for Sims and Sims 2. A lot of what I do now is just a continuation of the knowledge I gained through them plus good old trial and error (usually a lot of error lol)
Have you read the Forum Rules?
And please try to remember Capitals, Commas and Apostrophes when you post.

Hi lcmsims and welcome.
On the bottom of a thread there are six (or so) options for you to choose - the third on the left is "Notify", which you can click.
If that fails, make a total of five posts and try again.

Hazel, welcome! Before I joined I was a vulture reading everything, then I found that other members were wonderful in explaining and helping solve problems. I've been on other forums for years and never felt the commaderie as I have here.

Cheers for the "five posts" explanation, I was wondering about a lack of profile-options as well.

I am sending a notification. If you have it set and don't receive it by tomorrow I'd like to know, as we have had a lot of issues with big email providers blocking us after a newsletter.

Edit: The emails are going out now. Wow.. it sure takes a long time to send 6,000 emails. We will see a lot of new downloads because people who have been away do not know about this awesome town!

I'm sorry but the email service got cut off because the email host thought I was spamming due to the return address. Unfortunately it was set to use my private email. Oh well.. It's annoying, and I apologize in advance if you get a duplicate. I will have to send another as there's no way to know how far it got through the massive list. I'll be making it different enough from the original that I don't get locked out of yahoo, hotmail etc. for spamming their servers.
