Thank you Carl and Twinmum for the information. Every time I build a house, my Sims get that "incomplete" moodlet and that I don't have the proper flooring. This could really help a lot.
I do it on purpose! I LOVE making indoor gardens and ponds, and those are guaranteed to get the "unfinished" moodlet. But hey, I can always balance it out with a "beautifully decorated" moodlet. I did a moon base where meteors crashed on a regular basis, so everything had to be inside. I'm also amused by people with random traits who get either "Angler" or "Green Thumb" and "Hates the Outdoors", so I more or less build them a greenhouse!
I'm also fond of more than one way up or down. I usually do stairs and/ or fire pole and/ or elevator, at least 2 out of the 3. I need one way for people carrying children, and the other for people tired of waiting!
In at least 2 of my house/ apartments, I put the house on a foundation, and a small set of stairs leading down into the ground level, where I had a small garden. At the other end of the garden, I had stairs or a fire pole leading to the actual basement. In a 3rd house where I had less room, I had stairs leading to more stairs. Hey, it worked! On another world, I'd built the house on a foundation, then decided I wanted an elevator. Of course, that left the basement level uneven, but I had stairs leading down. It wasn't till later that I found a mod with a half-level elevator shaft, which could fix the issue! Ah well, maybe I'll remodel it later. I'm still amused by putting pools and hot tubs on upper levels!
