Logic actually wasn't that bad.  I had it completely supermaxed by the time Alicia hit elderhood in Artie's first game file.  I'm sure Marcus will have no problems getting it done.

Happy Birthday x 2 to Marcus and Happy Birthday to Erica.  No pink clothes this time around huh?

Oooh logic in my opinon the second most scary skill to supermax. If you are wondering I think the scariest is possibly inventing because my Sims tend to burst into flames when inventing. Although I have wondered if that risk would be removed if the Sim in question had the hidden imune to fire trait.

Sorry for hijacking the thread.

Rachel

Having leveled sims to level 10 logic using only the chemistry set before, I'm fairly certain that the worst that can happen with chemistry is the singed moodlet. The real hard part of supermaxing logic is finding kids to tutor. The house catching fire isn't going to happen because one of Cheryl's unique LTRs is Fireproof Homestead, which I bought because almost every birthday up to that point had a cake fire. The part that's actually scary about supermaxing logic is the star gazing challenge because of meteors.

Of course, if one is really worried about fire, you could wait until the sim is a teen before dabbling in chemistry. The moodlet manager actually extinguishes burning sims if someone else cures the one on fire. No joke.

The real hard part of supermaxing logic is finding kids to tutor.

It isn't too bad if you do it while your sim is still in school.  Have them invite a friend over after school and spend several hours tutoring.  You can get the challenge done in a few days that way.  It's much harder if you wait to do this until your sim is YA or older.  Siblings are also useful for this challenge, but may not be practical for an immortal dynasty.

I took a card from Pam's Dreamweaver Dynasty.  Use someone to get to know the newspaper delivery kids and then call them over later to tutor.

The Doe Dynasty. Episode 24: Erica Doe, Conqueror of Earth
« Reply #109 on: February 24, 2012, 10:40:49 PM »
Episode Twenty Four: Erica Doe, Conqueror of Earth

Did you really think you could just skip through three birthdays and only read up on Marcus choosing logic as his supermax and Erica being forced to take the thief branch of the criminal career? As punishment for skimming a relatively unimportant birthday update, you, the reader of this story, must sit through... another birthday. If you like birthdays though, then this is actually a reward for checking out the birthdays.

This episode takes place after one week of pure chemistry and chess. We begin our episode with Marcus's teenage birthday.

Heather Ferris: I want to have a birthday too!
Marcus: Logically speaking, this is a day where I become older and gain access to valuable assets like the moodlet manager. It is not your time yet.

No one knows who is more shocked, Marcus for having that hairdo or the author at Marcus actually having a pretty good outfit upon aging up. Jacket, jeans, normal shoes, no mismatched colors or anything.

Did Marcus inherit Erica's evil trait? Did Erica give birth to the minion she always wanted? After all, athletics is now a banned supermax in this dynasty because of Erica so any immortal can safely max it if they wanted.

What we do know is that Marcus's vision isn't all that great. Intelligence comes at a price and for Marcus, it's bad eyesight.

Being the genius Marcus is, and because she's still his mother, Marcus decided to offer some career advice.

Marcus: Mom, it's no secret that you're planning to take over the world but was forced to become a thief.
Erica: Yes, and soon, you'll be able to do what I couldn't.
Marcus: What if I were to tell you that becoming a thief is exactly what you needed to do?
Erica: I'm listening.
Marcus: Listen closely

Marcus: First, you *whisper whisper whisper*
Erica: Uh-huh
Marcus: Then, you *whisper whisper whisper*
Erica: Is that even possible?
Marcus: Let me finish. After that, you *whisper whisper whisper*
Erica: That's ingenious! When the world is mine, I'll order my slaves to build a smaller statue of you next to a giant statue of me.

Did Marcus truly become evil? How else could someone like him come up with such a plan?

No actually, he got it from a book. We were all mistaken about Marcus. He's not evil, he's just a bookworm.

What exactly was Marcus's plan for Erica though?

Henchmen: Mr. Leader, sir, we have an emergency!
The Leader: What is it?
Henchmen: A woman has managed to steal The Leader position from you.
The Leader: That's impossible. Don't bother me with things like that.
Henchmen: We really mean it, sir. A woman has, quite literally, broken into your Sims save file and stole The Leader tag from your job tab. You are now unemployed.
The Leader: That doesn't sound physically possible!
Henchmen: I'm receiving word that this woman has now stolen the world.
The Leader: This is a joke, right?
Henchmen: This woman has stolen "The World." I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this woman is now The Leader of our organization and has conquered the world by stealing it.
The Former Leader: Identify this woman. Now!
Henchmen: Stand by... her name is Erica Doe.
The Former Leader: ERICA!
Henchmen: If you'll excuse me, I must serve our new humble leader.

Marcus has taught Erica to bend the laws of reality to achieve world domination. Go immortals!

Unfortunately, it has it's side effects.

Dolores: Hey! What's the big idea?

Dolores: Two more days, I was only two days away from being 100 days old.
Grim: Your time comes. I have heard that line far too much in my line of work.

Marcus also has very bad timing when it comes to inviting friends over to be tutored.

Dolores: This is going to be you someday Glenn. Get out while you still can!
Heather Ferris: I don't think I want to marry you anymore Marcus. No offense.

With a birthday, a career maxing, and Dolores passing away, now would be a good time to end this episode so next time on The Doe Dynast--

It's YOUR birthday? Alright, we'll get this out of the way so that you only have to suffer through two birthdays next time instead of three.

You were an adult!? How fast do you townies age? Back when Erica was trying to find someone to create a minion with, she had to wait for Glenn to stop being a teenager. When Glenn finally aged up, he must have skipped being a young adult before he joined the family.

[I'm not kidding. I had to wait for Glenn to age up from a teenager to bring in Marcus and when I actually had to go and move him in the house the day after Marcus was born, he was in the adult stage.]

The Doe Dynasty. Episode 25: The Fourth Immortal
« Reply #112 on: February 25, 2012, 11:55:33 PM »
Episode Twenty Five: The Fourth Immortal

Not all immortals live a life of peace. Whether it be through world domination or simply stealing candy from a baby, some immortals dream of bringing chaos and misery to other sims. The fourth immortal is almost ready, it's only a matter of time.

When we last left our family, Erica achieved world domination by breaking the laws of reality. Marcus helped but he learned how to do that from reading a book.

We begin our episode with Marcus working on his fourth logic challenge, searching for stars. He already tutored schoolkids, found all the potions, and taught Glenn 95% of what Marcus's knows. The other 5% is forbidden knowledge that only Marcus may know... well, Erica knows what that 5% is.

Marcus: A large, yellow, super giant star. I believe I will call this... "I'm Amazing"

As Marcus continued to find celestial bodies, he would name each one something that inflates his ego like "I'm Awesome" or "Who the Man?"

Unfortunately for Marcus, ranked chess opponents just would not come over.

Marcus: I challenge you to a ranked game of chess.
Tori Kimura: Sorry, I can't make it right now.
Marcus: How about now?
Tori Kimura: Sorry, I can't make it right now.
Marcus: Now?
Tori Kimura: Sorry, I can't make it right now.

If townies are too afraid to play Chess against Marcus, then Marcus may have to buy a Change Lifetime Wish and supermax something else. There is one other thing Marcus could try though...

Erica had some business to attend to in China now that she was the ruler of the world.

Marcus: Why did you bring me here anyway?
Erica: Now that I rule the world, I have to check up on my slaves. As your reward for helping me, you get to watch my workers build a statue to you.
Marcus: Okay... what are you doing on the phone?
??: Thank you for calling VISA, how may I help you?
Erica: "The Eagle has landed."
??: Your vacation home is ready to go. Thank you for choosing us for your international needs. Long live Erica Doe.

If Marcus can't compete in the Sunset Valley Chess Tournament, there's always the China Chess Tournament. Back to supermaxing Logic.

The very first opponent Marcus had would also be the last opponent needed for Marcus to become a legend in Chess. Well, in China at least but it's good enough.

Marcus: Checkmate
Liu Lu: How I not see that move? You legend in chess now. Many sing your name in China from now on. This way more fun than building statue for you.
Marcus: About that, have you seen my mom lately?
Liu Lu: She go home days ago. You go home too. Doe family not welcome in China unless it for chess.
Marcus: I think I'll just do that.

The day after Marcus came home, someone had spread a false rumor about Erica so she threw a party to get everyone back to best friend status. Of course, this happened. This is why you have backup best friends like your co-workers or even your car.

After that little incident, the next day yielded a double birthday. Erica was certainly an interesting immortal. From the moment she punched her way out of her mother at birth, it was easy to tell that she was destined for greatness. The art of Sim Fu came naturally to her and with her discipline, she became a grand master of Martial Arts. Unfortunately, because she felt that doing things her way was easier, she became evil and ultimately used her powers to take over the world.

Marcus managed to pull off something impressive by supermaxing logic as a teen. Tutoring schoolkids, teaching Glenn logic, learning every potion imaginable, inflating his ego with how he named celestial bodies, and winning the Chinese Chess Tournament. He'll undoubtedly do well in whatever career he desires so as long as it doesn't involve cooking, painting, sculpting, or martial arts. Will he follow in Erica's footsteps and become the next Emperor of Evil? Or does Marcus have something else in mind?

You're an elder now Erica, hurry up and get your portrait painted so you can be immortal! As for Marcus, did he become Evil like Erica wanted?

The answer is no, Marcus went against everything Erica ever wanted and did the unthinkable in her eyes. He became good and joined the medical career. Marcus decided to use his brain power to save the lives of other sims.

Not wanting to chance gathering the family when Erica is racing against elders, she went straight for the food replicator after getting her portrait, sculpture, and photo taken care of.

Erica: I don't know what the other three complain about. This tastes fine to me.

Erica Doe is now immortal.

[A special thanks to SassySimmer's Danvers Dynasty for showing that you can do the chess tournament while on vacation. If I hadn't searched the forums for a solution to this problem, Marcus might have had to supermax something else.]

Great update and Whoo! Go Erica.   Congrats on hitting the halfway mark.

Also - When I supermaxed logic I did it by taking a moodlet manager to the park one day.  From about 6 am til midnight all my chess partners would only come to the park and never made it to my dynasty house.  It's a bug I think.   Good luck!

The Doe Dynasty. Episode 26: Bringing in the Sixth
« Reply #114 on: February 27, 2012, 12:31:29 PM »
Episode Twenty Six: Bringing in the Sixth

With Erica now immortal, the Doe family has reached the halfway point in the immortal dynasty. Will the Doe family be able to go all the way this time or will Marcus, the sixth generation, the seventh generation, or the eighth generation find a way to end the dynasty?

When we last left our family, Erica became the dynasty's fourth immortal.

We begin our episode a few days after Erica's immortality. Marcus had been hard at work making new friends and although he may have found the one at an early age, he might have found someone else through the medical career.

Marcus: Want to move into our house?
Lauren Gaddis: Sure.

The good news is that Heather Ferris no longer has to worry about marrying Marcus after that little incident with Dolores. As a non-immortal though, if you're going to live in the dynasty house, there's one rule they must follow.

Marcus: You know... if you're gonna live here, we could always... get married.
Lauren: No, I couldn't.
Marcus: Even if I flirt with you a few times?
Lauren: Well, maybe after a few flirts.

Marcus: How about now?
Lauren: Let's do it!
Erica: I wasn't expecting my kid to be into older women.
Cheryl: I wasn't expecting him to move the wife into the house before marrying her.

Lauren: Awww, couldn't you have put on something better than your paramedic uniform?
Marcus: Sweetie, I like to wrap things up quickly.

Going straight to the shower to try for a baby runs right in the family. Every immortal's done it... except David... he had Cheryl in an elevator.

A few hours later, Glenn learned to levitate and become ethereal

Wait, what's Grim doing here? ...oh.

Glenn: Oh! Uh... please don't take me and uh... ah forget it, I bought a moodlet manager like I wanted to do before leaving. Let's go.
Grim: Your act amuses me. Let us depart, Glenn Doe.

Grim: As for the rest of you, you cannot cheat death forever. You will one day run out of ambrosia and death flowers. When the time comes, I will be waiting.

On the bright side, Lauren became pregnant with the sixth generation. What will be in store for the family with the arrival of the new baby?

[Bringing in the sixth generation is the scariest part of a dynasty because if you have twins and the targeted immortal is female, the dynasty's over because it'll be impossible to bring in the seventh generation without intentionally killing the sibling or having the child without moving in the father. Only the seventh generation is allowed to do the latter.]

After what had to have been the longest two days in Sims history, Lauren was given quite a rude awakening mid-sleep. The baby had woken her up.

Say hello to Lindsay Doe, the sixth generation. I bet you'll never guess what one of her traits is. Athletic? No. Heavy Sleeper? Nope. Couch Potato? At least she'll have something to do once she's immortal. On the way home, a bee flew near Lindsay and landed on her nose. Although the bee didn't sting her, it did scare her enough to permanently hate the outdoors. What a bee was doing out at 4 in the morning is anyone's guess.

The Doe Dynasty. Episode 27: Surprise! A Birthday Episode!
« Reply #118 on: February 28, 2012, 11:44:54 AM »
Episode Twenty Seventh: Surprise! A Birthday Episode

By now, a pattern should be emerging with each new immortal. When it comes to episodes in the dynasty, each immortal consists of the following

-One marriage episode
-One pregnancy episode. Sometimes this is combined with the marriage episode.
-One mass birthday episode
-One teenage progress report episode
-One filler episode
-One episode of the previous generation becoming immortal

The Doe Dynasty would like to formally apologize for this predictable, yet fast paced story.

When we last left our family, Marcus showed off his love for older women and married someone that was a week away from being an elder. This adult proceeded to give birth to the sixth generation.

We begin this episode with Lindsay's toddler birthday. This is only the start of what will be many birthdays in this episode. We got four to knock down, so let's get to work.

Unfortunately, Marcus had to be called to the hospital to perform an emergency operation so he has to miss Lindsay's birthday.

Been a while since I gave a toddler a makeover, don't you think?

Next up, Lauren's elder birthday.

Marcus can at least make it up to Lindsay by reading toddler books to her.

Marcus: What finger do you use to press the A key?
Lindsay: Pinky! Pinky!
Marcus: That's right, you use your pinky finger to press the A key. Can you say "control + alt + delete"
Lindsay: ...Pinky!
Marcus: (I can't believe they made books designed to teach toddlers to use Microsoft Word for money)

Next up, Lindsay's child birthday. Lindsay had so much fun reading those books with her father that she became a bookworm.

A comfortable looking shirt for all the time she'll be spending indoors. Dumb bee.

Since Lindsay was so into reading books as a toddler, she decided to try writing her own. A Sci-Fi novel called "Aliens and Lasers and All That Stuff" At least she isn't writing bad fan-fictions about other dynasties. No one would want to read stuff like immortals having affairs with other immortal families.

Finally, the last birthday of the episode takes place the very next day, right after Marcus got promoted to the top of the medical career. Since there was no time for a party, Marcus just had the birthday as soon as he got home. Neurosurgeons work pretty long hours, 9 AM to 5 PM? Makes getting promoted pretty easy. Enjoy playing golf for the rest of your career Marcus, you've earned it.
