Pets crashing, DEP settings not working.

I installed Pets two weeks ago and for a few days it worked just fine, but last monday it started crashing after about 5 minutes after it finishes loading. It says that the program stopped working and windows will close it or something like that.
I've been googleing around to find some help and apparently it's a very common bug... some people say it's a graphic card issue but mine is up to date and game compatible and has never been an issue with any previous expansion packs. A lot of people say that changing the DEP settings has worked for them but I tried it today and it didn't work... it now takes like 30 minutes for the game to crash, but it crashes anyway. Does anyone know what else I can do?

I have no CC, no mods and my computer has all the minimum requirements, and there is enough room left in it

EDIT: I forgot to mention my game is updated to the latest patch.

Are all of your Expansion packs and Stuff packs installed in the correct order they came out? I know that's something EA has mentioned needed to be done. Here's the order that they need to be installed: EA website

You can also try and do a factory reset and maybe that could relieve the crashing.

YAAAAAAAAY!!! I did the factory reset thing and my game is now apparently fixed 
I had never heard about a factory reset but it's so easy, quick and effective!

Now it's fixed, I think actually the save file got bugged the minute I installed Pets? In Appaloosa Plains I had no salon and no consigning store... I mean, the lots were there but they were empty. I hadn't thought about that until now, but now they're there and working fine. I remember I thought it was weird but I was so busy testing the EP that I kind of ignored it. Now I'm getting deformed pets every now and then but reset Sim seems to fix it.

You're welcome. I'm so glad it worked! I never heard of the factory reset either until I was roaming the forums one day and found a thread on it. Needless to say it fixed my crashing problem as well. Enjoy!
