Welcome to simworld Dakell! It is a very pretty name.

Thanks!  Given that he's got the artistic trait, I'm betting people can take some guesses what he's going to be up to. :D

Chapter Forty: Father and Son:

So Dakell was a little angel.  He was generally a quiet child,

Who enjoyed spending time with Grandpa.

He got lots of attention from Daddy, too.

Yet, despite having a newborn in the house, things progressed in other ways, too.  Mom helped Grandma Elisha in the garden,

and painted my portrait for the Dynasty Museum.

So, there were some additions to the museum when Mom was done.

Imoen was breaking space rocks now, and collecting the gemstones from inside them.

I was still writing up a storm, working on writing Masterpieces to cap out my career – even if I had become one of the best writers in the world, it still wasn't enough.

I was writing so much I missed my husband's Elder Birthday!

He had his birthday alone, right after his work ended.  I feel so horrible for not being there for him.

We, however, had more things to celebrate.

For after one more snuggle from Daddy,

it was time for his birthday!

And now we have a wonderful toddler boy!

I can't seem to find pictures of Ho Sung's Elder outfits.  I feel silly, but I guess I either didn't take them or have since deleted them.  Sorry folks!

Anyway, here's Dakell's Wardrobe:

Chapter Forty-One: Mother, Son, and Grandfather:

I don't think I quite every conceived of what it would mean to have a child.

There were some. . . less pleasant. . . moments.

I don't think I'll ever quite forget the smell. . .

Dakell is an angel of a child, though.  He's been patient with 'mommy' teaching him to walk,

and generally lavishing all sorts of attention on him.

It's moments like this when I'm glad my work allows me to stay at home.

Yet a new laughing child in the family was not the only reason to celebrate.

At dinner, we had a celebration of a different kind.

My Father had just become immortal.

I think most of us read lots of these stories, they're so wonderfully addictive.

Dakell is such a cutie pie, I love those ringlettes on boy Sims, it's endearing.

*Confetti* for you second immortal, horray!

I know I definitely read these stories -- and it's so easy to get caught up in them  :)

He is a cutie -- the ringlets didn't stay into his later years, unfortunately, but he's still a cutie.

Chapter Forty-Two: A Day in the Life of a Toddler:

So Dakell has been a busy little child.

'Great-Aunt' Celeste helped with this whole concept of talking,

and began sculpting our youngest immortal.

He was usually quite content to amuse himself in the nursery, reading or playing with his bear.

Once nap-time rolled around, though,

the rest of the family quickly took advantage of not having a toddler underfoot.

Dad went to go pick up his Nectar Making reward,

While Imoen broke apart pieces of space rock,

and practiced with her brother-in-law.

Speaking of Ho Sung, I made a point that I didn't care about the age gap between us.

While I was doing that, Mom tinkered with the Hot Tub to make it unbreakable.  She said she wanted away from 'the lovebirds.'

However, nothing stays the same forever in this family, and my son was no exception.  With one final ride on the spring rider. . .

it was time for his birthday.

Tomorrow, he'll be starting school!

Chapter Forty-Three: Condensed Childhood:

So Grandma Celeste's an artist!  I want to be one too, I think.  I've started painting and taking pictures, and when I grow up I'm going to sculpt, too.

Grandma Celeste sculpted me and painted my picture to hang on the walls in the basement under the basement.

I don't know why there are all the sculptures and pictures down there, but I'm sure I'll figure it out in time.  Great-Grandma Elisha even took pictures of everything once my pictures and sculptures went in!

Grandma Celeste is really nice, though, when she's not trying to keep secrets.  Don't tell anyone, but she loves to pillow fight with me!

Lets see. . . Mom always insists we try to have dinner as a family.   It's a little hard with Aunt Imoen on the night shift, so it usually turns into family breakfast, before I go off to school.

I've been talking a lot to Grandpa Nickolas.  We both love being outside, so sometimes we even share our meals out on the front bench.

I know Great-Grandma Elisha worries that I'm spending too much time just painting.  But I know how to have fun, don't worry!

Then again, I sometimes worry about Grandma Elisha.  She scared -another- clerk at the consignment store.

So while I paint and take pictures, what do the grown-ups do?  Usually just hang out in the hot tub, that's what!

Though. . . sometimes I do other things.  Mom doesn't say anything about me donating my allowance.  I think she's not sure what to say.  But sometimes she just hugs me really close.

I never really thought about birthdays or growing up until I saw Aunt Imoen and Mom at their Birthday party.  I guess. . . I guess growing up just. . . well, just happens, right?

No sooner had Great-Aunt Celeste started on Mom's sculpture and portrait,

I got to have my birthday, too!

I start sculpting lessons tomorrow!

Chapter Forty-Four: The 'New Girl':

I can sculpt now!   So, I got to work immediately!

Mom put both my Easel and the Sculpting station outside since she knows I like it far better outside then inside.

Grandma Celeste liked it better in the art studio, though.  She got to work on my teen portrait.

I have to admit, I would have been much happier just painting and sculpting all day. But both Mom and Dad insisted I go to school.

I admit I can see they think it's important. . . but you learn all you need to know from the arts, I don't see why school is that important.

So Great-Grandma Elisha and Grandpa Nickolas took some time from their gardening and nectar-making to have a bit of fun,

but then Grandpa went back to his Nectar, and Great-Grandma went back to her garden.

Mom and Dad have been keeping close.  We all know Dad's getting old. . . but Mom refuses to let that bother her.

She and I took the time to bond over a game of hopscotch.

That wasn't the only person I got the chance to bond with.

One of my middle-school friends had just grown up. . .

Dakell looks great, very artistic!  He looks like he was born to stand before an easel... I wonder why that would be? *Laughs*

Your bar room is very pretty, I love the colors and curtains you used, it makes me think of mint juleps and ladies fanning themselves while sitting in comfy chairs.
