Chapter Twenty-Eight: Family Life:

So Celeste went back to France for another trip.

She meditated,

got the chance to drink Nectar,

excavated a ruin,

and continued exploring the old mansion.

She spent the rest of the time painting and sculpting.

When she came back, the girls were glad to see her.

Vacations aside, the Dynasty requirements didn't stop.

Uncle Cycl0n3 read books with Elshana. Since she's already shown an interest, it's good to nurture it at a young age.

And I spent as much time with the girls as I could.

For toddlers, they were quite well-behaved, not causing a fuss if there wasn't an adult immediately watching.  They played together as though they were best friends.

Soon enough, it was time for their Birthdays.

First Elshana;

then Imoen.

To think, tomorrow they'll be starting school!

Yes, and it's quite nice.  I remember in Sims 2 how some of the kids/toddlers could be rather ugly.

A lot of the formalwear in Sims 3 is nice.  It's a pity they don't change into it more often.

Congrats on the 25 ice sculptures.

I think it's getting easier, I've had to do it so many times! :D

Great update!

Thanks. :)

Awww, the twins are very cute! I love their outfits and agree with LoveSims that their formals are tip top!

Glad to see Celeste isn't so busy with twins that she can't be a fabulous jetsetter/ adventurer.

The block table pictures of them as toddlers are particuarly cute!

Can't wait to see what kind of mischief two young cuties get into as children :D

Thanks.  I actually have a lot of fun dressing my sims. . . does that sound odd?

I wanted someone to have the level 3 VISA, so that I could use vacation time as help for skilling/supermaxing, plus some of the adventure chains are just fun.

I find the block table just generally seems to produce cute pictures.  Maybe it's just me. :)

Well, that's coming up soon. . . although according to Imoen, her sister is boring. :P

Gah.

So my exams are done.  Yeay for being done school! :D

I haven't been updating my Dynasty/DecaDynasty as much, as I've been playing a few of the old challenges, just to do something different.   But I still exist, and I'm beating out an update that should be up in a day or two, I hope.

And Mass Effect is still distracting.  I'm replaying 1 and 2, so that I can import into Mass Effect 3.  Very fun, but distracting. :)

Chapter Twenty-Nine: Loss

So I'm back, sorry for the wait folks!  I don't know how fast I'll be updating, but there should be a few more updates coming whenever I get them posted.

So Elshana dove right into writing her own stories on the computer she got for her birthday.

While Imoen was a bit more. . . playful.

They're both good kids though, and I think they're the sweetest things alive.

So, Celeste decided to take them travelling.  They both jumped with excitement when she suggested the idea.

It gave Celeste a chance to really talk to the children, without what she jokingly called 'manly interference.'

Oh, they had -so- much fun in France, they found the toys that I had sent for them. . .

Though it wasn't totally play for Elshana.  She loved to write; and we weren't going to discourage her.  It might be her skill for the Dynasty – though Celeste told me that she wasn't explaining the Dynasty while people were on vacation.

It wasn't totally play for Imoen, either, as she took to painting.  Celeste encouraged her (even if Imoen's not the most artistic soul,)  just to make sure we'd have someone able to paint the portraits.

It's sad that I have to do this to my own children.  But Mother says that it's important, and I can feel that it is.

But none of that didn't make the next few moments any easier.

People came running, first Elshana,

then Agnes.

But Uncle Cycl0n3 didn't seem too upset.  Indeed, it was the most composed I'd ever seen him.

And that night, Aunt Agnes slept alone.

Well, at least he went quietly... But it's always a little lonely when a sim passes on.

I wasn't expecting him to die. When the camera panned over, I thought it was Agnes dying.

Yeah, it's odd not to have him in the house, now.

Grrr.

So once again, the ice sculptures melted -- all of them. I'm just left with the discs.  I tried exiting and reloading, but that didn't work.

This time, however, I have a save before they travelled, so I'll see if I can fix it that way.

This bug always seems to strike about the middle of the Dynasty. I am ahead of where I'm posting, and I have Gen 4 grown.

So. . . annoying. . .

Edit: Yeay!  This time my compulsive saving before and after traveling has saved my Immortal Museum -- the sculptures are still intact.  Gen 4 has some back-tracking on his skills/career, but I can live with that.

Actually the discs for ice sculptures is allowed per the dynasty because the sculptures are still there and they still have the same value when you pick up the disc.   In fact, the completed Bellamy dynasty by Margerita had the sculptures become discs and then right before the end of the dynasty, they all came back.  So you may have gone back without needing to.  Also, deleting everything but the ccmerged file in your DCbackup and the cache files might help with that too.

I know that it's ok by the rules, but it just bugs me -so- much that I can't stand not having the sculptures there (yes, I know, I'm odd). :D

I've been hearing that with this bug.  That occasionally it can just 'come back'.  Which is rather annoying, if you ask me. . . *sigh*

Oh, ok, I'll give that a try first, now that I know my file before they traveled is safe.  Thanks!  I don't want to loose that progress if I can help it. :)

Edit:  So I loaded my save while they were traveling and sent them home.  The sculptures were still disks.  I think it's the traveling that borked the sculptures.

The sculptures that become disks are the ones that are placed in the museum not the ones in the family inventory right?
