Chapter Six: One Birthday. . . .

I was originally going to do this and the next post as one, but it just became too unwieldy.  So instead, I'll have two shorter posts.

Hope you enjoy, regardless!

So Agnes adored the children.

So did Cycl0n3.

As a matter of fact, it seemed like the entire family was lining up to deal with our two youngsters,

myself included.

Though we still found time for other things.

But it seemed like time flew by; and my little Nickolas was about to become a toddler.

Isn't he adorable?

So once again, my game keeps crashing to desktop at Celeste's Teen Birthday (yes, I'm a bit ahead of myself right now.  That's probably a good thing).

I don't know -why- it keeps crashing. *sigh*  It's probably a specific event call that's being difficult.  I'll see if I can work through it somehow.

Chapter Seven: . . .and another Birthday:

On the plus side, I've got more time to update here while I wait for my game to load! I'm hoping I've fixed the crashing problem.

So Nickolas found a nice place to hide and play.

He also worked on this whole walking thing with 'Daddy'.

Cycl0n3 took his time with his daughter;

While 'Daddy' also tried to get Nickolas potty trained.

'Daddy' also took him on walks in the stroller. (I think 'Daddy' forgot to get changed. . .)

He was generally a jewel of a child. . . unless he woke up hungry.

But I was busy with my garden; Agnes was busy with her sculpting. . .  so Celeste aged up to a toddler all on her own.

We quickly decided she needed new clothes, among other things.

I think that both the kids are adorable.

Yeah, I'm not sure where her eye colour came from, but I really like it. :D

No luck yet. . .  *grumble*

Edit: So after a couple of attempts, it still keeps crashing in the same spot.  I'm hoping to get around it, but so far no luck. *grumble*

Edit #2:  I think it's tied to the 'enroll child in afterschool class' action.  I'll see if that's the problem.   In the mean time, I've got a decent buffer to go through, so it's not a huge problem.

Edit #3:  Got it!  I'm still not sure what the specific problem was, but after resetting Sunset Valley (weird, never had to do that before), and running the 'fixall' command, it seems to have fixed both my crashing, and my lag. :D

Edit #4:  My game still seems to crash somewhat randomly.  I'm debating seeing if patch 1.31 fixes it, but I -don't- want the social stuff.  *grumble*  Oh well, either way I've got some more of a buffer, though I'm discovering that Nickolas' choice for Supermax might not have been such a good idea. . . .

Quite.  They're actually being rather adorable.  I'm beginning to revise my opinion that Nickolas isn't as cute as Lucas.

Seems to be fixed for the moment.  My game still crashes occasionally, but it seems to have 'unstuck' itself.

Chapter Eight: Lessons in Life Skills:

Our two toddlers were adored; just as they had been when they were babies.

Adoration, however, is no substitute for learning and teaching.

And outside of the realm of learning to walk and talk, they really are quite adorable children,

and they play well together, too.

Chris has been taking over a good chunk of the household chores.

He's been kind enough to do that, and I needed the help. My garden has been demanding more and more of my attention; and I still haven't found any Money Tree seeds.  Making the top of my career is going to be difficult without them. . . though I did take some time out to chat to a few friends.

Agnes is still frantically sculpting.  My adult Birthday was fast approaching, and she still couldn't get her ice sculptures to stop melting.

She managed her 25th Ice Sculpture the day before my Birthday,

and got to work on both my, and Nickolas' portrait.

We were cutting it tight.   I can only hope that Agnes can pull things through in time.

Agnes is a real trooper!

Considering how close to the line I came on this, she really is.   Nickolas and Elisha share the same birthday, so she had to do 2 ice sculptures, and 2 portraits.  I was praying she didn't get the weird ice sculptures, because I didn't think she'd have time to re-do them!

Chapter Nine: Childhood and Adulthood:

Short post this time.  There are so many Birthdays, I had to split this up once again.

I can't believe it.  Nickolas is growing up so very fast. . . .

But he's not the only one.

That evening, when we were all eating Nickolas' birthday cake, Cycl0n3 celebrated his birthday, as well.

I think I woke up Chris with my own celebration.

He didn't seem to mind too much.

But now I'm starting to worry.  Last time I had lots and lots of Money trees (wait, what 'last time?)  and this time I've only found 1.  Everything else has been Life Fruit, Flame Fruit, or Plasma Fruit.

That's going to make hitting the top of my career difficult. . .

Do you have Lunar Lakes and the tree?  I think one of my saves was corrupted by a glitched one of them so I partly think it may be the tree.

No, I don't think I do.  I don't always remember what I have. . . :D

Oh.  Wow.  That was a total brain fart on my end. No, I don't have Lunar Lakes.  I don't always remember the store sets I have, but for some reason it didn't click that you were mentioning the Town!  So I was sitting there thinking, 'that doesn't sound familiar, I don't think I have that.'

Wow.  Don't I feel stupid. . . .  :-[

I suppose that's what I get for replying too late at night. :P

Oh, and an unrelated technical question:  Anyone who's read my posts elsewhere knows that Nickolas is going to go for Nectar Making.

My question is, what defines 'homegrown' for the Vizard of Vine challenge, and is it still bugged?

I know that Metro's said for the Dynasties that a Gardener can grow it, but I'd like to actually have the achievement completed in the Skill Journal (I'm a bit of a completionist in that way).

Right now, I'm thinking Celeste and/or Elisha can tend his grapes, and he can harvest them.  From what I understand, that -should- count for the Challenge.   But I'm wondering if anyone knows for sure?

Chapter Ten: Big Brother

So Nickolas enjoyed being out of his crib.

What was even better, though?  Getting to be an effective 'Big Brother' to Celeste.  He adores her.

Though playing in the bathtub was almost as fun.

He did, however, accidentally wander into some 'private time'.

According to my son, such things are “gross.”  I suspect his tune will change when he's older.

Either way, playing pretend as a Prince seemed to put the matter out of his mind.

As for Celeste?  Well, she seems to have a thing against Birthday Cakes.  We got one for her, intending to throw a small family party.

But she aged up on her own, again, in front of the potty chair.

Though now that she's picking her own clothing, I'm a bit worried about her fashion sense.  Hats to bed and in the pool?

Oh well, maybe she'll grow out of it.  At least she's not insane.
