Celest is such a cutie.

She is, isn't she. :)

Thanks.  She's a bit more eccentric in her clothing and mannerisms; and I wanted that to be reflected.  She's the first Sim I thought about giving the Insane trait (it usually drives me nuts), but that's not quite right for her.

Chapter Eleven: Childhood and Growing Old:

Hello all.  I know my updates are slower, but between getting my hands on Mass Effect 3 (which I'm liking so far),  and Real Life deciding to throw a whole bunch of stuff at me, I'm not Simming as much, and even when I am playing, I'm not updating.  So if stuff slows down, that's why. :) )

Hello all!  Mother gave me this journal to record my own thoughts in; so I might as well give it a try.

My name is Nicolas Conell, and I'm going to be immortal one day.  Mother works so very hard at it, and I will too once I grow up.  She thinks I don't know, she hasn't told me yet, but I wondered why she worked so hard in her garden.  That, and both her and Father were worried about not finding money trees.  It's not like we -need- the money, (though having something stashed aside is always good), so it had to be another reason.

Most people would get all worked up about being a maybe-immortal.  It's actually kind of boring.

We share family dinners (Father's an incredible cook),

He tries to teach me a bit as we watch the Cooking Channel, but cooking's not really my thing.

I go to school,

and I do my homework with my, well, I suppose she's not really my sister, is she, even if it feels like it.  We've grown up together.

Oh, I told her she could sit on my bed, but no, she said she was comfortable on the floor.  She's a bit odd like that.

Don't tell Mother, but she's better at getting to school on time then I am. . . but she'll share the front seat of the school bus with me.  We talk on the way to school.

Celeste is only a bit younger then me, but I think she's glad about having her own room and being out of her crib.

She loves to paint,

and helps out around the house when things are quiet.

She and I love to pillow fight once our homework is done.

You know, I kind of feel bad for the grown-ups.  They have so much stuff to do for this whole Dynasty thing.  I suppose that will be me when I'm older.  I hope I can do something I like.  I'd like to work in the Garden, but Mom's already doing that, so I'll have to find something else.

But Aunt Agnes (I suppose that's the best name for her), painted Mother's portrait and hung it downstairs.  It helps the ritual.  Mother won't say how.  It happens to all of the maybe-immortals.

And Mother came back after Delivering some Cheese to the Bistro.  She has to help out the community when the opportunities arise, and she says I will as well.

While mother was busy, Father said he didn't want a party for his Adult Birthday.  He said he didn't want to think about that he was growing old.

I don't know. I don't think he looks any older.

And after that, Mother and Father had what Uncle Cycl0n3 called 'Private Time.'  I just think he didn't want to answer my questions about what they were really doing in there.

I guess that's it for this time; I'm off to go play with Celeste!

Once again, my game is crashing out. I can't send Celeste to travel to France without it crashing -- but it's not the specific 'travel' event that's causing the crash; since once it crashed while she was on the phone, and the second time it crashed after she picked her destination.

I think my file's just being tempermental, since I'm getting some errors via Error Trap.   I'll try some general clean up and see if that fixes things.

I will say this, my errors seem to be related to the high chairs, of all things.  The adults have trouble interacting with them, and the toddlers sometimes 'pop' out of them.

Weird. . .

I'm hoping to get another post up later.  I'm alternating between Mass Effect 3, chores, schoolwork, and Sims. :D

Though that's not as bad as it sounds, since I get a lot of my chores/work done during the Sims load screens! It can load while minimized, so I can do a bunch of other things. :)

Edit: It looks like it -was- the high chairs. Apparently my game was getting stuck on some sort of error there.  Weird. . .

I seem to remember it doing that last time too. . . . but I keep forgetting between Generations (and I don't like the bottle, I'd much rather have them in a high chair).

This time. *sigh*  When my game works, it works well.  But occasionally, it just seems to get 'stuck.'  But, I'm unstuck for now, and should have an update relatively soon. :)

Chapter Twelve: Childhood Days:

Aunt Agnes has been busy with what Mother calls The Museum,

I think it's really neat to see yourself like that.  It's got something to do with the magical energy.  I can feel it.  Just a little.

Father's fishing; he hopes to catch a Deathfish. That too, is something to do with this immortality thing.

But, life around here is at least fun.

Aunt Agnes and Uncle Cycl0n3 had fun pillow fighting;

While Celeste and I did our homework.  This time, she made it to the table!

After that, we played catch for a bit.

Then Uncle Cycl0n3 decided that he wanted to pillow fight with her, too!

It was also neat to get to see her all dressed up in a tutu!

And when we got back from her recital, it was time for my Birthday!

Ok, I'm all grown up now!

Wow he really looks like his mom in the face doesn't he!  Great update and I'm glad you're working through some of your problems.  The new patch might fix a bunch of your crashing issues too!

Thank you.

And it really just seems to be a matter of the game file getting. . . well, 'stuck,' somewhere.  It seems to be playing fine now, though I'm a good bit ahead.

That would be nice. :)

But since I'm hoping to get some extra money and buy Pets soon, I might as well wait for that; and then install Pets and patch up all at once, since I'll probably have to uninstall-reinstall to get Pets to work.  Might as well only do that once, right?

Considering there are two cats running around my apartment, I'm sort of pre-forced to get pets. :P   I just haven't had a chance yet, being a poor university student and all. . . :P

Chapter Thirteen: Pretty Girl:

So Celeste has found new sources of entertainment;

though she's keeping up her painting too.  She loves it, and I'm glad for that.

As for the rest of the family?  They're still busy with their own work. Aunt Agnes sculpted me in ice,

Uncle Cycl0n3 still loved to play Chess, even though it wasn't his passion as much as it had been when I was younger.

As for me, I've been reading.  I'm still trying to figure out my passion.

While Mother was still working in her garden. It was becoming a question if she would reach the top of her career before she, well, died.

But it wasn't long before Celeste herself had a birthday party.  This time, she actually got cake!

And. . . oh, boy, she grew up to be pretty. . .

Chapter Fourteen: Growing Up and Growing Old:

Usually, when a son starts dating, a mother's prerogative is to become incredibly over-protective.

In this case, though, I've known the girl he's dating since she was a babe-in-arms.

It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that knows them – Nickolas and Celeste fell quite in love. . . though I think her growing into a teenager had a lot to do with that!

Though I do wish I could come and convince him to eat his birthday cake with the rest of us.

Oh well.  He enjoyed himself regardless.

Despite being a teenage couple in love, Nickolas and Celeste are not overtly affectionate.

Though he did ask her to prom, to which, she of course, said yes.

As for Celeste? Her artistic side is flourishing even more, she's taking sculpting lessons from her mother.

Unlike my son, she actually remembers her homework.

And the rest of the family have kept busy as well.

Chris still seems to be the general handyman around the house, cleaning and fixing things,

While Cycl0n3 managed to distract my son.

Agnes, however, is less sure of herself. Officially becoming an Elder seems to have slowed her down a little. I wish she'd said something about her Birthday. . .

And where was my son when his aunt was celebrating her birthday?

Obsessed with the water slide, as usual.

Oh my Celeste is one of the most beautiful female Sims I've seen born in game! Wonderful Sims and great set up - I always liked Cyclon and am still confused why is Agnes grumpy in my game only - I hardly ever see any other expression from her in my games! Love the story and will continue to follow it!
