The second Sim I sent to China started with the Learning from the Master's Palm too but just like yours, had already started on the Martial Arts Skill because of an opportunity in the Military career track. But none of my Sims since then have been able to get any part of this adventure. With each new patch and EP's, I have deleted the old games and started anew because they seemed so glitchy with updates. However, none of the Sims I've played since before the previous patch (not the last one) have been able to get this adventure. I keep trying to get the chain by not training my Sim in Martial Arts. Sometimes I just give up because I need to get to level 10 to complete the Dragon Cave and I wondered if that meant I couldn't get the Resolute Fist Retreat with maxed out Martial Arts.
But since you played it only a couple of weeks ago maybe it's just the luck of the draw. Most times my Sim just stands at the board and reads nothing but this last trip I got the message that there were no new adventures and to check back tomorrow (I finished the Dragon Cave the day before and had just completed the recurring ones so it was late at night).
