Thanks for the screenshots. Wow, it looks even better from that close view. The lots are really amazing. Can't wait to try it.

there's an issue with the legacy lot. Your sim will run down the path to get into a car rather than right outside the front door. Wasted time.

It depends on where they are going. I've had my sims both go down the path and get in the car right in front of the house. The sim will automatically take whichever route is faster. There's no need to get in the car in front of the house to drive all the way around the block to the town hall when they can just go down the path.

But when they are going to a club farther away? My sim never used a car and ran down the path to THEN activate her car. Rather annoying. When I restart a game in UC, I won't use this site unless it's fixed. Which means, I'll have to delete some other house for the size lot I want.

They're just trying to take the fastest route. Say you're in map view and you're looking at the front of your house. Your sim wants to go to a lot towards your left. Your sim will go down the sidewalk on the left and then get into the car because it is a more direct route than getting into the car in front of the house and going right to drive around the block. If that little sidewalk were actually a road, then the sim would get into the car in front of the house and take that road, because it's faster and more direct than going around the Mod Hill block.

That's not a bug or a glitch. It's how it was planned. I don't see a problem with it.

I've done one complete and am now practicing on a second of Metro's challenges in UC.  While my computer's graphics card is too weak, and has been since Generations,  I have no problem with playing in UC other than it's slow.  But my game has been slow since Generations.  Go figure!  lol  It's not any slower except around some of the big mansions.  Pam's really slows the game down for some reason.

No brag but this town is the absolute best for challenges.  Everything is so conveniently laid out that you save a tremendous amount of time getting from one place to another, and in a challenge this could be very important.  Plus everything you need, except things from WA, is right close to hand.  We could not place WA things because they would have been challenge breakers.  There are enough cheap places to live so your new challenge Sim can actually afford a class or two and get started on the right foot.  The furthest away place is the Science building but it is placed appropriately and I wouldn't change it at all.  I'd like to see more fish in the pond in the park and at the lakes but there are plenty available in many, many other spots.  Even some right outside my Thyme families back yard gate!

I loved Appaloosa because of all the animal things you can do, but UC is even better.  It has the advantage of being beautiful everywhere you go, or comical if you count the run down area, and animals abound!  We were a little concerned about animals spawning since this wasn't something we were particularly in control of, but it has all worked out just fine.  Ana's starter farm is perfect for a beginning Horseman/woman and can turn into a truly awesome farm.  It's my favorite starter home at the moment.

The more I play in UC and the more I try other towns I find UC is pretty much the only place I want to play.  Phew!
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

I'm playing a DecaDynasty with Barbi and Ken. And their house... it is truly a doll house in every sense. It even comes with a baby room with complete with a crib and potty. The only problem is the two "dolls" have no skills whatsoever and Barbi has no useful traits.

I also think Carl has made a home in Central Park. He's sleeping on the benches and is hungry on a constant basis. Maybe he's stuck?

I'll eventually get around to posting my DecaDynasty story. Give me a few days...

Hi Katsumitkhs, Yeah, doll house is really a doll - but they can't really have it all  ;)
Wonder why Carl is not going home.. I'd grill some hotdogs and pay a visit to his mansion to check what is going on!

I'm playing a dynasty there and loving every part of it, except that I'm playing with low settings while I know how beautiful it all looks on higher settings. Still, as Joria said, I can't really play in other worlds after UC.. it is just too pretty and functional and interesting to look around, I keep getting surprised looking around with things such are Carl sleeping in park bench hehehe

I apologize if this is not the right place to post problems with UC. I downloaded it for the first time today and I really like it! It looks better than any other world. I have poked around a bit in edit town mode looking at the community lots. I have tried playing a couple of families, (Caldwell at Treowse Manor Farm & the fairy girl - can't remember her name.) But I am giving up for tonight because the game keeps freezing and I have to force quit it, or it just crashes to the desktop. I have tried playing with no custom content and I have deleted all the cache files. I am on a
Mac Powerbook OS 10.7.3
2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
8 GB Memory
AMD Radeon HD 6750M  1024MB

I have not had this problem playing any other worlds. I am so disappointed cause I love the way it is laid out.  :-[
Is anyone else having this problem or have any suggestions?
Thanks

Hi StamperCat,

The thread for technical issues in Union Cove is here. You might have better luck posting there.  :)

I play the Bass? News to me! I'm also kinda shocked about seeing myself at a Sports Bar. I'm not a Sporty guy. I guess I'm just following Sportsfan. Lol. ;D

Why does Union Cove have a subway station? A single station is completely useless.

It is so that people can use the Subway to use the Play For Tips feature where you earn a lot of money for a short time. However Subways in BP cause really long transmuting between places and generally annoyed a lot of people due to taking an hour to travel somewhere they could have got to in 20 minutes without the subway. If you want to add more do so in edit town.
