I would love to love this world, but I don't have generations, so some houses are completely ruined. Hint: Staircase.
And while I'm here, how do you make an immortal sim? (No lifefruit or ambrosia)

There's a Lifetime Wish in one of the expansion packs that disables aging

To bring back an older topic, the Internet Cafe really is packed. I counted 13 Sims there the last time I sent my writer there.

Though I suppose there's a reason they're all hanging out here: They're reading the forum!  :P

Dear Ghandi! That is confusingly interesting.
I'm just starting to play UC, and wow it is big. Only problem, how do I get spiral staircases without Generations? I can't use one of the houses (The big empty white marble one) because it relies heavily on those staircases.

Typical that the smallest community lot in the town is the most popular one.  ::)

You can't get them without Generations. You could use the Ambitions fire pole or Late Night elevators thoguh?

It's always a good bachelor party when you have Charlie Sheen, Velmoor De D'Onlyn, and Sportsfan providing live music. (Plus A. Simself, but he's about to die, so he doesn't count)  :D

Ok, I got an automated warning that this thread has not been posted in for awhile, but I think it is still ok to post here?  If not, sorry!

But....I just have to say I LOVE UC!  Kind of late to the fan club, but seriously, it is wonderful!  I wasn't able to play it til I got a more powerful computer to play it on.   And I don't have all the EPs so sometimes I get kind of empty rooms, but it doesn't matter, because this world is gorgeous!  I'm a relatively new Simmer (in the last 6 months or so) so I'm trying out a whole lot of worlds, and I really find this quite superior to some of the store worlds, for example.

It's beautifully detailed, and I love the houses and their interior decoration.  Most of the time I play like this:  I evict a ton of townies so I can place my CAS sims in those houses and then I seriously modify the houses and the towns to my liking.  That's what makes UC entirely different for me.  First, I don't want to evict the Townies, because I know they're based on forumites, and more than that, they're interesting to me, so I'm willing to let them stay!  And in addition, I think the houses and the interior design are so much more interesting than what I find in stock towns or in store towns--so I feel like I need to modify a whole lot less!  This means my game is going to be totally different, because that's primarily what I've done so far!

So far, I added one of my Sims to the town and have gone house to house visiting.  Usually I just use a mod to open houses, but I find this town so interesting I want to meet the townies.  I'm particularly taken with the Yorks so far, and Trustworth Dreamgirl (is that her name?) keeps appearing too.  And Pam!  (Even a newbie to the forum like me recognized her!)  I'm having a great time!

So anyway, just wanted to let everyone know how much I love this town.  Oh, and it seems so much more detailed and vivid than some.  I've been playing Monte Vista lately, and I"ve noticed how little details are not vivid (as in with no change to my settings I notice that grass doesn't look right, and other small details are oddly flat), and also how empty the town looks--I rarely encounter other Sims.  But UC is so beautifully detailed I feel like I'm there!  And there a lot of other Sims around too!  I love it!

Thanks to all of you who worked so hard on this, and I just wanted to let you know that there is yet another person who is thrilled to be able to play in this world!

I am glad there is a thread to show our appreciation!  I have really been enjoying this world and kudos to all that have participated in the making of this wonderful 'hood.  Sadly I've had to remove some of the lots in order to put my own in but I've kept ALL of the townies!  I would like to get to know them better and hopefully be able to associate them with the actual forum members!  This world is a fantastic idea and so far it's been running great!!  Is there a place for screenshots using this world?  I'd like to show some of my sims mingling with the UC sims.

This thread is generally where people put up some screenshots of UC. It's all a part of the appreciation gig, lol

Ok, I'm prejudiced, but I STILL think this is the absolute best town ever.  Thanks for all the lovely comments you guys.  It always puts a smile on my face when I hear how much UC is appreciated.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

Your favorite Union Cove home for...
« Reply #131 on: January 25, 2013, 05:46:42 AM »
Hey all! So, I've been doing a bit of a tour with the union cove houses on my latest simventure, and it got me thinking. Which house do you like for a specific reason/use?

Personally, I love this little house for my starter house:

This is Petit Maison at StarRoad 2270. It has everything you need, no frills, but is so nicely modern and done up that a single sim can live here and do just about anything in a tiny space. It's so well-utilized, I love it.

My current hunt is to find the best house with an open floor space on the floor level for easy in-out access and parties, and one with a well-designed baby area.

Which ones do you like?
When I'm not Simming, I'm {writing}.

I absolutely love Union Cove! I honestly believe it's better then most of the places EA makes. I'm still trying to get use to the size and just sheer scale. The one problem I'm having is I can't seem to find the grocery store. Any help?

I don't have UC, but I think it's called the open air market or somthing.

There's actually two - the open air market which has all of the registers minus the WA ones and SN if you don't have the latest version, and the actual grocery store which is nearby the Open Air Market.
