Ok, so I have this opportunity for writing that says that i can donate 3 books that I have written to city hall. I wrote 3 books and now I can't donate them because I don't have them in my inventory. How do I fix this?

Put them in your inventory?
If you mean that you don't have them at all you can purchase books you've written through the computer. Well on the pc game you can. Maybe not in the console version

Have your free copies of the books come in the mail? Usually when you finish a book there'll be a copy of it in the next mail delivery.

maybe i should start checking the mail. i rarely pay my bills, unless it tells me i have one day

Yeah like cathy said they come in the mail for free when you finish writing them.
