I have come to believe that it would be entirely appropriate to celebrate the unveiling of UC with a heartfelt and jovial booyah.

So, booyah!

Oh, sweet irony, deliver me from coincidence.

Please feel free to utilize any of my builds in any of your stories and so forth.

Booyah right back atcha!

I wonder why those stairs are being such a royal pain?  I'm going to check on them today and see if there is a way to change them entirely to make them work for everyone.
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

Booyah to you two LOL.

To everyone without all EP's. I uninstalled everything but base game, reinstalled UC and was able to select save file in main menu and load the world surprisingly fast.

World is filled with oak trees, it looks like all trees and plants are replaced with them, even pink hydrangeas. Also, 2 rabbitholes are gone - movie set and equestrian center-as expected, Sims are not looking the way anyone intended, and even some terrain paints are gone from lots. Bars are mostly empty missing most of the stuff, and all community lots not available for base game are marked as Community lots /No Visitors Allowed. Shells and most of the features are still there.
There is one game breaking problem - bridge is gone and no access to other side of the river (even if it is counted as base game content in CAW >:(!), and another possible routing problem since water tower in front of the dive bar is replaced with huge concrete one covering half of the road.
Can someone please tell me if they successfully loaded saved file without some EP's?

I tried clicking directly on the stairs it never worked, I even tried replacing them, that only worked for the bottom one, for the second one nope, never worked.

Margerita I rebuilt the house in UC with standard stairs.  If you want to bulldoze the one in your game and upload the newer model let me know and I'll post a link and some pics so you can see how it looks.  You may want to shift some of the furniture around in the lounge to suit your taste.  I basically just stuck it in, although not bad it may not suit you.

Thank you for the offer Joria, but I just tested the work around Anushka sugested and it worked perfectly so I can use the house right now. :D

I had to turn all graphics settings down as far as they would go to get this World to load at all, but even with these settings it is still very very slow with a lot of lag time. Without World Adventures, there are no trees at all but otherwise everything loaded fine.

I must say though, this world is absolutely gorgeous! Much better than anything EA has built. The time and energy and creativity that went into this project is so wonderful. A huge thank you to everyone who was a part of this project for creating something like this for all the great people here on this forum, and in the rest of the Sims community. It really is a masterpiece.

It still doesn't work for me. I tried yesterday again and all it did was load 25% then crash.

I'm also still having trouble getting past the house choosing after starting up UC on my iMac.  Mine shuts down to desktop when I click to move my Sim into a house.

Hey! I've been a big follower of this blog/guide, and when I discovered this town, I was completely ecstatic (to say the least). However, I only have the expansion pack World Adventures so I had to download the UCSave. My problem is that it didn't come as a ZIP file, so I could not extract it, but would cut and pasting it into the Sims 3 -> Saves file work just fine? Also, where do I place the downloaded Union Cove file in the Sims 3 folder? I'm really sorry if these questions have already been answered, but I haven't been able to find them.

Welcome CemeteriesOfSims!

You can save downloaded file anywhere, doubleclick on it and it will start installing trough laucher. You can save it in MyDocuments/EA/Sims3/Downloads - that is where all your Sim Downloads are.
For rar/zip file - I just drag the file from archive to where I want it, hope it will work for you like that. This world is landscaped mostly with WA trees and objects, so it should stay pretty and colorful as we made it.

Thanks! Now I'm going to test it out to see if it will work for me. Though, I have sims that currently live in another neighborhood (the default that comes with the base game). Would it be possible to move them into UC through the game, like on the phone or edit neighborhood, or through edit town, or do they have to stay there?

EDIT: Well, this is really sad! When I try to create a new sim family and I choose Union Cove, after it downloads it says that Sims 3 has stopped working. I saw that other people were having this problem, too. Now I'm stumped!

To move Sims to a new town, use Edit town in the old original save, save the household (with or without house) to your library, it will be a button when you click on their home for information.  Then just start up the new town, and place the saved family.

If you have any special painting or pictures I would move them to Sim inventory before saving them ;)

Only solution I know off is to lower your settings. I was able to play UC without any problems with just base game installed this morning, so beside settings, I have no idea what else might be a problem. How much free space do you have on your PC?

The only other EP I have is World Adventures, which is a huge one as far as I can tell, since it practically doubles the loading time for stuff. I'm currently on a new laptop and The Sims is pretty much the only thing I will download on here (with the purpose of playing). So, I'm pretty sure I have a lot of free space on here. When I checked Task Manager, it says 894 MB is free. I'm torn between uninstalling WA, because the family that I've been working on for quite some time has a lot of artifacts/nectars/photos, but UC looks amazing. Hm hm hm.
