I have searched and searched on this and had no luck so my apologies if I missed the answer somewhere.

I just started in Union Cove.  My evil sim desperately wishes to become a Criminal Mastermind.  He went immediately to False Information, Inc, but there seems to be no opportunity to become a criminal.

Do I simply need to wait a while?

Yes, no option for Criminal was available.

Ultimately I edited the town and there was no building that represented a Criminal HQ over at False Information, so I added a Smugglers Den and was able to get in the career.

Possibly the default HQ is one from an expansion I don't have?  The large building with the garage spots was one level and had no roof, so it looked rather incomplete.

I finally downloaded Union Cove and after half an hour of just looking at the world I am amazed. Everything is so beautiful and well built and I think I will be spending a lot more time playing with it :) Everyone did an amazing job.

Also, the waterfall is amazing:

I was never able to run Union Cove before because of my poor computer, but as I have a new comp, I decided to try it again.  It works great - and I have to say after 2 hours looking at everything - it is AMAZING! Thank you to all who worked on it. I can't wait to play it!

It looks amazing, but unfortunately I don't have any expansion packs. I have CAW, and I am sure that I would never be able to build something like Union Cove! Well done everyone!  :)

I'd love to try out Union Cove, but I'm unable to download it.  It gets to about 16% - and takes a long time doing that - then just terminally hangs.  Is there any other source for download besides the flynnarrowstar.com site?

Thanks Twinmum... unfortunately, when I go to the link and click the link that says Click Here to Download, it takes me to this site http://www.flynnarrowstarr.com/files/carl_sims3/unioncoveseasons.zip, which downloads between 2 and 10 mb of the file, steadily throttling down until it reaches 0 bps and stops.  I've even tried different browsers, but no dice.   :(

I have to say that any download issues always seem to be intermittent. It is an external server provided by the generous Mr. Flynn ArrowStarr along with his Mrs. Flynn. They get unlimited bandwidth with their host, and that host may have throttled the download for some reason. I'm wondering if you're on slow or fast internet, as I am able to cap their server's speed and download the entire file in about 2 minutes (just tested). Any time it doesn't work, I would suggest a person come back the next day to try again, perhaps at a different time of day (in case you're trying during the peak hours, whatever they may be).

They were very kind to offer without me directly asking them and saved us a lot of headaches with free file transfer services like mediafire. Their donation of the ftp server has saved us thousands in bandwidth costs sharing this world, as it's been downloaded over 120k times at this point. Our host is not so nice about bandwidth charges but fits my needs as a webmaster by being very flexible :)
