Stop with the singing already!

Been playing one of my custom couples for the past few hours.  Everything is going great!  Except... the woman of the house just won't stop with the singing!  She sings the same thing over and over again.  It's driving me nuts.  Anyone know of a way that I convince her to just can it, short of muting the game or turning my speakers off?

If it's one of the foreign country songs, I don't think she'll ever stop singing it!  In the shower, gardening, fishing, anything!  I hear those songs in my head all the time!  Gah!

I once had one of my sims learn a song. I'll never do it again.

If you let them learn one of the songs, you need to let them learn ALL of them.  At least you get some variety that way!

I don't mind if they are from the country and sing their songs, it must be lonely over in sunset valley or riverview for them! I think the only way to stop them from singing is to keep them busy and not have a stay at home person who looks after the kids.

I might be weird but I love the songs they sing! (But strange thing happened to me, when my Lana learned all the songs twice, so when I click her I can choose from so many songs because every song is twice there :O )

Oh yeah...wait til you have a sim who sings the same song, over and over again, offkey.   THAT makes me crazy.   I don't know what's worse, singing the same song or learning all the songs and singing all of them offkey.

I had my Sim learn the Chinese songs.  Since she's in the political career, she has max charisma and has a great singing voice (I assume that's tied to the charisma?  It was in Sims 2).  I actually really enjoy hearing her sing.  She only knows a couple of the songs, but I like the ones she knows!

I think these duplicate songs are a bug.  You should only have one of each song available to sing.  Hopefully, EA will fix it soon.

My cure for annoying sims is to make them have an accident, involving the grill or the pool.

I think these duplicate songs are a bug.  You should only have one of each song available to sing.  Hopefully, EA will fix it soon. 

I also have that bug, but as I said in another thread a while ago, it doesn't do any real harm. You can still learn all songs.

As far as the bug goes for the duplicate songs, I noticed that my charismatic Sims have the charisma icon that shows up on some of their actions. Well, with the songs, one set is plain and the other set has the charisma icon. However, Sims without a special action for charisma; both of the duplicate songs have no icon. This could be why it's duplicated as some Sims would have it as a charisma building action. However, it still shouldn't show up that way for non-charismatic Sims. I also noticed that when they sing to another Sim, its is considered to be flirting with that Sim. I forgot to check if it is a flirty action for flirty Sims though. 

In any event, EA just needs to code it so that the duplicates only show up for Sims with traits that pertain to the second action and leave the rest with one set. Seeing as this is not really a game-breaking bug, I highly doubt it will be fixed soon or ever.

I really like the singing, myself...but only with Sims who have medium to high voices. Sims with deep voices...just can't sing. xD

I also noticed that when they sing to another Sim, its is considered to be flirting with that Sim. I forgot to check if it is a flirty action for flirty Sims though.

I had a flirty sim who only certain songs showed the flirty icon.  You can usually tell by the title of the song which ones will be considered romantic.

Well, now the problem is that when there are duplicates of the song titles available, it's not the same song that is sung.  For example, if there are two titles for Je t'aime, one will actually be Je t'aime and the duplicate title will be for Phillip's Kenspa.  Also, only one of the songs from each country is supposed to be flirty.  The other is supposed to be just friendly.  So, right now, the songs are just all messed up.
