Special Abilities
« on: March 21, 2010, 11:22:10 PM »
I have a young adult sim who is an emporor of evil. He can glow red. I am wondering, if I have him quit, will he still glow red?

I'm not 100% certain, but I rather think not.  You could try saving your game, having him quit, and see if the glow goes away.  Then you could just reload your saved game and continue playing.

You don't keep that ability. I would think that you could, because you are or were the emporor of evil.

But if you quit, you're no longer the Emperor of Evil.  You might retain the ability if you retire, though.  You get to keep the limo when your Sim retires as a rock or sports star, or as Leader of the Free World.

I know my sim will not retire for a long time. He always eats ambrosia 2 days before he ages up. That is how he is a great great grandfather.

I have noticed (so far) the only perk you get to keep is the fridge from culinary and the police car from policeman. Or is that only because I took them out of inventory before I quit?

Perks you can keep after quitting?

Super fridge from culinary.
Autograph sessions from military/athletic/guitar.
Sneak ability from criminal.
Wolf statue from criminal.
Police car from law enforcement.
Science experiment from science.

I got a food prossesor from the culinary career. From reading the 'First Ever Sims 3 Legacy Story' that was posted on the main stories section of the site, GRAYCURSE had an Evil Sim who kept the red glow I think!

You get a food processor early in the culinary career and at lv 10 you get the fridge. Are you sure he kept the red glow?

ummm, not so sure but I think she had retired I will try to find the exact story and link to it! Also I had a sim quit the Culinary Career before taking the fridge out of the family inventory so I think once it has been achieved you may be able to keep the achievment.

EDIT: As you probably know the Sims 3 website is, how shall we say it, RUBBISH! There are no pictures on the story, so there is no proof that an elderly old sim has a red glow, unless the pictures got deleted by GRAYCURSE?

An elderly sim can glow red, IF he's still working as the Emporer of Evil.  So a picture like you mentioned still doesn't prove anything.

Maybe Carl should get this in his guide?

If I am correct when your World Renowned Surgeon retires he or she can still tell the gender of unborn children. I discovered that earlier. Yes, I do think Carl should put that somewhere in the guide, it could be helpful to know these things about jobs, like what we can keep if our Sims up and quit or what they won't keep unless they retire.
