Something in a modern style would be nice as we haven't done one in some time. But, I do enjoy everything you've given us so far. They are all so much fun . I love trying different types of builds. I still need to improve on many sides of building.  :)

I don't know if this idea has been discussed previously, but I was wondering about the possibility of being able to enter competitions twice... particularly useful if not many people enter a competition.

The way it could work is... if people enter twice, then if loads of people have entered by the time of the closing date, then their first entry only would be put up for voting. If not many people have entered, then maybe both entries could be up for voting.

I don't know whether people could see this as unfair, though.

It's probably a silly idea, actually...

Yeah, I set the precedent for the rule. When there was no rule, I got so excited and built two entries. There was a huge commotion about it. I had to withdraw one.

Oh woops !

I guess it's not a universally liked idea then.

There wasn't a huge commotion as I remember it. Both entries were good and we did accept that there was no rule for it but we never expected two entries from a member therefore the rule was introduced.

The reason we only allow one entry per member is that not everyone has the time to submit several entries. If it was for a Contest where not many others entered but you entered say twice but there were only two other entries then your chances of winning have theoretically increased. We want to keep the field as balanced as possible and this is just one of the things. If you want to upload a build that matches the specifications put it in the swap shop. If you have time you might like to build two 'entries' but then choose the one you like the most or that matches specifications best and then enter that one but upload the other to the swap shop.  :)

I think we could have a contest where we build a hotel model, a bit like the boarding school one last year. The hotel would have to have a theme throughout, a minimum number of hotel rooms, restaurants, leisure activities and cleverly landscaped grounds. The hotel wouldn't need to be huge, maybe 4-10 bedrooms, depending on the amount of time a player has. It would be interesting to see what people could come up with.

Variation on this could be a "Bed and Breakfast" idea, but still with all the same requirements

With 2013 now here we are doing a major tidy up and review on the Contests. Most of this has already been completed it's now just putting it all together and soon the first contest of the year will be up! We had hoped to get it out earlier but due to a good friend of mine coming to stay with us from abroad I just haven't been able to get everything together and rather than rush everything we want to ensure that everything is done correctly and to tackle any questions. There are some changes to rules and general layouts.

A new Suggestions Thread will be made for the fresh start.  :)

Hope everyone had a great new year and I look forward to seeing some great contest entries this year! :D
