E: Also, how about whenever you win a building contest, you get a little picture or something you can post in your signature? Nowadays I can't remember who's won contests due to sheer quantity.

Zapkid, there's an index of the building contest winners in the first post of this thread. The list doesn't seem to have been updated in a while, but it includes all the winners up to April. By the way, welcome back. :)

Thanks :)

Also, the budget for contests sort of turn me off. If it's got to be a luxurious house "dripping with simoleons" (Contest 12), I believe there shouldn't be a price limit. At least not something as small as 100,000. Hm.

Hey guys I'm taking an extended hiatus... again. I'm out of ideas to build houses and I don't have as much fun designing homes like I used to; it feels more like a chore. So that's where I'll be, I will probably be back sometime. :P

For the next few contests, may I suggest something small? I don't have anything specific in mind, but I've noticed that contests with high budgets, high bed space counts, large lot sizes and/or high landscaping requirements tend to get fewer participants. They're fun to have every so often but we've had like three in a row now.  ???
Agreed. Although I love the bigger ones, and I seem to be better at them. The smaller ones seem to get more interest.

I'm thinking something smaller for the next Short Contest. I do know what you mean though, I will try to focus more on the smaller contests.  :)

I also agree . I have a lot of free time but I know some don't. We need more entries to make it a little more interesting and fair. I have enjoyed all the contests I have participated in so far and looking forward to a whole lot more. I have learned so much and thank everyone who comments as it helps me get better and more creative in my builds.  :)

I'm so glad to hear you feel that way about the Contests! That's one of my aims: to help people improve their skills. I really think this is the best way to learn because it makes you practice and try different things, over the course of several contests I do notice improvements in people's work!

How about you post an average house and we have to change it to make it look like it would in 50 years? A random idea but I think it would be fun :P

Cool ideas. I like the House changes idea as it can also work both ways, future and past. I'd probably get caught up on images of what buildings used to look like though and not get around to even attempting to get an entry out in time! Hopefully with no more Exams now I can have more Sims!

I will work on something for the Signatures if people want them, maybe something that can be duplicated for the amount of times you've won. Although Ausette may run out of Characters for her Siggy if she does it!  :P

Thanks for reminding me, I'll fix that soon. The posts in the thread are all up-to-date though just not the list on the first post.

Where would the challenge be if there was no budget!  ;) You may be thinking big Luxury with swimming pools for baths but try downsizing slightly. Just because it's a large lot doesn't mean you have to fill it up. It's all in the planning!

Having and sticking to a budget is part of the challenge. I think that to consider yourself an all round builder, you need to be able to build small and cheap as well as big and expensive.

Or in this case: Small and Expensive.  ;)

How about a restaurant challenge?  Build either a Chinese, French, or Egyptian restaurant.

Have we had a spa?

If not, can we have a spa challenge?  :D

Interesting idea, I'll add it to my list.  :)

It's on my list, I've been leaving it a while since the Pool/Beach Contest since it's all pretty much water, hot-tubs etc. really.

You know we could do a set challenge, like you have to make the set for a specific scene, and it could be for a forum story, written by our fabulous writers. The builders build the set and the writers photograph the set and write about it. It would undoubtably take a long time to complete the story, if it even had a plot  ;D. (Currently I've been obsessed with stuff "unique" to our forum :-\) And we could also do the idea with opening up the shell of the workplace. I like that idea. :)

Interesting idea, I'm not sure how practical it would be for the Contests but you never know.  :) The Rabbithole Shells are already on the list as well.  ;)

It'd be cool to have a contest whereby there is either no funds limit or a very high one, but only build on the smallest lot size. I think that could be just as challenging as having a funds limit :)

A 10x10 Mansion!  good idea!

or how about a 10x10 town - the best possible house/community lots only built on 10x10 lots including dynasty(legacy) house, parks, fishing holes, clubs, playground, etc. :D

Might as well toss this one out there because it came to me randomly, but a Decade House. Basically, a specified number of rooms (Of defined types, like bathroom etc), each assigned a decade (Or time period) I was thinking at very least Victorian age, 1950's, 1970's, and Far future
