A Sims Night Before Christmas
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the villa
Not a creature was stirring, not a dire chinchilla.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
Hope the firemen are working in case there’s a flare.
The nooboos were nestled all snug in their swings,
While visions of life fruit danced and took wing.
The gnomes in the yard and the horse in the stable,
Gathered around as best they were able.
When out in the yard there arose such a rumpus,
Oh no, could it be from the hounds a la Bumpus?
I jumped from my bed and jogged to the window,
Threw back the curtains and gazed down below.
The moon shone silver on the back yard,
Forgive me, I know I’m not much of a bard.
When finally my eyes to the twilight conformed,
I saw a fat man and eight unicorns.
The man was so jolly, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be Sim Nick.
The unicorns nickered and pranced as they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
"Now Prairie! now, Eclipse! now, Minnie and Racer!
On, Pickles! On, Nova! on, Starlight and Chaser!
To the top of the porch! And on to the sky!
Wait a minute, unicorns can’t fly!"
As dry leaves that rustle as soft as a feather,
If only The Sims had winter weather.
So up to the house-top the unicorns flew,
With a sleigh full of gifts, and Sim Nicholas too.
What was that noise that I heard on the roof
Could it be our gnomes going ‘poof’?
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney Sim Nicholas came with a bound.
“You’re lucky,” I said, “the fireplace was upgraded.”
He brushed off the ashes and quietly paraded
With a bundle of gifts he had flung on his back.
“Something’s not right. This seems out of whack.”
He said nothing at all, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings. I felt like a jerk.
And when he was done, put his hands on his hips
And pressed his first finger atop of his lips!
“Don’t tell the others that I was here,
For this is how I spread holiday cheer.”
But I heard him exclaim, as he flew out of sight,
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"
