My kid launched my game the other day and clicked yes to install 1.29. It failed at 99% installation and corrupted everything. I tried to restore back before the patch, but it does not affect documents, so everything was still dead. I had to reformat and reinstall windows 7 and all games.
Now 90% of my saves says something to the effect: Cannot load this save game. It may have been saved with Expansion Pack data no longer present..blah blah blah. I own every EP and SP and they are all installed in release order. All are currently updated/patched and new saves run perfectly.
Well, I did have a custom sim that was lost, so I redownloaded him. I do have multiple saves (I save every 30 minutes and the saves are always: Savename1, Savename2 format), they all say the same thing.
My game has NEVER generated a .backup to restore back to. When I get an error 12 and have to delete the .bad file, I have to go to the 2nd newest save and replay what I lost, hence the reason why I save every 30 minutes. I have tried everything and I cannot get them fixed. Is there anything I can do?
