My Sims keep moving!!!
« on: March 19, 2010, 07:40:42 AM »
I moved a sim family out of the parents house and into a house across the street, it was the house next to Jon Lessons house.  I was playing the parent sim and decided to go visit the son, no interaction on the house.  I finally find the family in a little one bedroom house and they had a new baby.  I move the family back to their house and all of the furniture in the house went with them, no problem.  I played the parent for a while, actually a few sim days later, and went back and they had moved again, only this time in the Jon Lessons home, I moved them back again, I snagged the cars though, LOL. They took the furniture again, their family inventory is full.  Weird thing is, the furniture is still in Jon Lessons house.  So, I guess when you move the furniture goes with you, but it is still in the houses.  I have had other sims move around before, but not like this one.  Anyone else have this happen?

It's got to be the new story progression.  I've seen some of my families do the same thing.  Often they move to a cheaper house and I just don't know why.  I guess they just get antsy about staying in one place too long.  And yes, the furniture both goes with you and stays in the house.  It's weird.  If you keep it, of course it's yours.  But the house still needs the furniture for any future residents.

I've seen the Altos move to the house on the corner just opposite of the Andrews house, closer to town square.

This has happened to me. I moved a sim into the house and stole all the things. I have a couple teleporters now.

I guess I am still use to sims2, when they moved the house was empty after you moved them, lol.  What a way to get furniture and cars.

Too true. I found that if you move someone into your house and have them bring their stuff, then it goes into the family inventory. You sell it, then you move them back into their old house and start the process over again.

I don't want to be picky about things, but this sounds like an exploit that could count as a cheat in my notebook. So, could you "clone" LTH rewards in this fashion? ::)

I would say say yes. I have cloned some things so that I don't have to buy them with all the LTP I got.

I actually move a different sim into the house, become great friends, spend the night, then steal the most valuable things.

I don't think LTH rewards can be cloned.  Are you positive about this?  You're talking about a Collection Helper, Teleportation Pad, Moodlet Manager, etc.?

When I moved out. They stayed there and also went with me. It may have been a glitch.

Ok, that's different from what I was thinking.  I thought you were talking about using the eyedropper in Buy/Build mode.  Sorry for the confusion.

Yeah. I know that with testingcheatsenabled, you can buy on other lots and put those items in your family inventory. That's stealing.
