Ch. 13: A Bunch of Birthdays

One of my favorite interactions from Generations is "Preside over Royal Court." Danica has the perfect facial expression to tell you why I like it so much.


Davy makes sure to spend time with the newborn Cody. Davy's getting pretty old and he's not sure just how long he's going to be around.


Moe and Jinx spend some quality time in the new pet house. Who knows what the result will be? If it's three little kittens running around, we will have a full house!


Cedric has a birthday party to mark his transition into adolescence. He added the trait Schmoozer. He will be SuperMaxing Charisma, which is a first for me, so wish me luck!



Cedric has a quirky style all his own.



And now that he's a teen, we can see that he looks quite a lot like his dad. He has his mother's hair and eye color and shape. Our heir has a good mix of genetics! And thank goodness that he didn't get the heavy genes like Malcolm did. I can't risk Cedric maxing Athletics just to lose weight!


Cody ages up into a little cutie.


He adopts the mohawk.


Dear Carmen has a small party at home for her Elder birthday.




I think she's aged quite gracefully.

So far it's really fun to read. I have one Sim with a supermax of charisma ... and I found it really hard. It was hard work to get it done so I wish you the most of luck with it.

I'm prepared for it to be difficult, but I still have this generation and last generation's vacation days to use if I really get caught in a tight spot. I think Charisma and Logic have the most challenges, so I want to do them both early on if I can. SuperMaxing Logic will depend on how many vacation days I have left, though.

Ch. 14: Kittens!

Jinx goes into labor!


Let's welcome Simba and Cassy Abbot. Names courtesy of my boyfriend's 6 year-old sister.


It seems that the kittens have very similar markings, but Simba is fluffier and has smaller eyes. Cassy has short fur.


And Cassy is the playful one. She decided to pounce on her mother.


Davy is making sure Cody learns all his skills. I can't believe I He almost forgot to teach him to walk!


Danica is a little Insane. She talks to herself and then gets mad at herself. It's rather entertaining.



And since Cedric has turned into a teenager, he no longer wishes to share a room with his insane sister. Carmen and Davy set aside part of the basement for Cedric's new room.


Danica's teen birthday snuck up on the family, but everyone (Carmen being a little late for the photoshoot) made way to the kitchen to celebrate.



No, these aren't really her eyebrows, but I thought it was funny to see just how arched her eyebrows are.


This hairstyle better suits her since I couldn't find eyebrows that didn't go halfway up her forehead, haha.


Since Danica is insane, I decided to give her a spunky style along with a very demure style.



She added the trait Family-Oriented, and she now loves spending time with her little brother.

Awesome update - the kittens are so cute and Danica has grown into a lovely young lady!

I've always found charisma pretty easy to supermax, especially if you get the Attractive, Observant and Never Dull LTRs.  Attractive makes you start out immediately as friends, so it is a lot easier to meet the requirements for increasing your charisma.  Observant allows you to pick up on other sims traits really fast.  Never Dull allows you to repeat the same interaction over and over again without boring the sim you are talking to.  This is especially important for the challenge to tell 100 jokes.  You can just keep doing the same funny interaction over and over again until you complete the challenge.

Logic isn't too bad either, except for the chess matches.  It's always hard to get the next opponent to come over for the match.  I place my chess set very close to the street so that I can grab the challenger as soon as they set foot on the propery.  For the other challenges, you can start with the chemistry set and the telescope as soon as your sim is a child, so you can get a head start on those.  I find it easiest to tutor children when my sim is in high school.  I just have him/her invite friends over after school and start tutoring.  You can have that done in a couple of days.  I usually save tutoring other sims in skills for last, since it's the easiest to complete.

Thanks for the tips, Kat! Cedric already has two of the Charisma challenges done. I'm still not sure how... I just got the pop-up that the know 25 people and learn 50 traits were completed while he was talking to Danica one day. He already has Never Dull and Observant, but I didn't know that about Attractive, so that will help with the 20 friends challenge.

I've not SuperMaxed Logic yet either, but I'm about to in my Immortal Dynasty, so I'll have the approximate time amount figured out by then. I've done all the challenges, but not all with the same sim. I'm trying to SuperMax the ones I'm unfamiliar with first,
