I'm not really seeing any real reason not to download this patch.

For real. EA did a great job! Fixed thing and didn't cause any new problems. Kudos to them.

I am experiencing some crashes, but I think what I'm doing is kind of forcing them, if you get what I mean. I accidentally closed my Laptop lid, and it crashed. I had TestingCheats open for a while and it crashed, sort of thing.

Hi guys,

The fish definitely don't travell well in my games since the patch.  I created new Sims in Sunset Valley, Bridgeport, Twinbrook and Appaloosa Plains and all have returned from foreign destinations without the caught fish... which isn't terrible except for not being able to bring back the crocodiles for that twit with the attitude in France.  Everything else comes back okay... just not the fish.

Is there anyway around this?

After crashing three times on the first day, I haven't had any more crashes since installing the patch (touch wood) but I did find lagging so severe in Appaloosa Plains and Shang Simla I had to resetsim a couple of times before it fixed the game (and inadvertently sent the Relic Merchant home just when I wanted to sell off my lower value fossils and relics). That actually predates this patch - the Pets patch (1.26) really messed up fishing.

Does anyone know if the fish can return home with you if you put them in family inventory? If not, I'll try the next time (that's assuming I can get into family inventory when traveling).

Only if your Sim has VISA Level 3 and a Vacation Home.

It seems to be downloading incredibly slow for me, although every other patch has been downloading brilliantly fast. Could this be to do with the fact that I've went so long without playing that I've missed two patches, so the download is adding features from them, as well?

Ugh, that's a shame. Thanks for the links, though.

I'm betting that's exactly the reason. It downloaded pretty normally for me, but if you haven't used the last two patches, you may as well assume this patch is going to take three times longer. Or that's what I would expect.

It took about an hour to download, then the usual ten minutes to install, but when I booted up my game my legacy file took a whopping 50 minutes to load up! As soon as it loaded up, though, it gave me a glimpse of my heir standing where I last left her, then the laptop shut down. >_> But the shutting down part is due to overheating, I suspect. Rather suspicious about the dramatically increased loading time, though. It usually only took fifteen minutes, at worst.

Please be sure to stay on topic.  Some of these things don't have anything to do with the patch and could probably be discussed in another thread.

I'm sorry. I genuinely thought my new loading time problems were as a result of the patch, because they've never been like this before.  :-\

No worries.  Even if it were because of the patch, you'd probably get better help with a topic in the Technical Help thread.  But I understand that it's not easy to draw the line where you should move to a different thread.
