Sims 3 Store content not working on Steam...
« on: December 09, 2011, 10:29:59 PM »
I have The Sims 3 and The Sims 3 Pets installed on my computer through Steam.
I can't get any kind of store content to be recognized by the game.
I used to have a different copy of the game with Late Night instead of Pets, but I removed it and it still won't work.
I registered the game on the Sims 3 official site using the CD codes that Steam gave me.
I can download store content to the launcher no prob, but after installing it doesn't appear in-game.
Any suggestions?

EDIT: Turns out custom content  works as it should, just not store content. The store content is probably confused from me registering 2 copies of the game in the store.

Steam is a digital distribution platform (sort of like Origin). I had issues getting CAW to work with the Steam version, so I activated my Steam copy through Origin instead. It would probably be best to check on the Steam forum for TS3 about store items.

Welcome to our Forum.

Are you properly registered on the Sims 3 official site?  You're purchasing the content at the Sims 3 Store?  Where exactly do you run into trouble.  More details would be helpful.

I personally just used the colors to point out details.

Does Riverview show up in the launcher under the "Installed Content" button?

Everything I install shows up in the Installed Content in the same way as in the Downloads menu. (Meaning it shows the pack, not individual objects, sims, ect.) But after launching the game it disappears from the Installed Content menu. And I always make sure the "Run without custom content" checkbox is cleared before launching.

Well, I'm baffled.  My only suggestions are to contact Electronic Arts or maybe try a complete re-install.  If you try to re-install, be sure to browse our Technical Help board for information on backing up your game and other helpful information.

I think I will do a complete reinstall. It's been taking a long time to load lately.
(P.S. the loading music stops early, I don't know why)
