Does anyone know of any preorder deals going on like the one origin currently has? I am wanting to pre-order but looking for a deal that will work for me!

Origin has a pre-order special that gives you a free stuff pack (and apparently a new stereo object).  These are for digital downloads only, obviously.

Can't do digit downloads! I wish I could but they are not available on a Mac. I know I want to use that deal but I already have all those stuff packs the only one I don't have it Town Life!

I already have them all, so it's not really that big of an appeal to me.  Besides, I still want physical discs for re-installs.  Digital downloads of actual expansions would take too long.

I agree with Hosfac. Digitals can be a pain when, or if, you change computers. While the discs are ahndy for re-install.

I wish I could pre-order through Steam. I haven't had a problem downloading or installing from there, it doesn't take long, even expansions. The extra stuff is appealing, but I have everything else. The closer it gets to release, the more excited I am.

I used to like having the discs better, than when I pre-ordered Pets, I must have accidentally clicked digital instead of physical and at first I was upset, than realized I didn't have to wait around for the mail! I just opened my Origin and downloaded it. Than when my sister bought me TLS it was at night and I seriously didn't want to wait a few days for it so I clicked digital and got it instantly. I like it now for the simple reason, if I do have to uninstall and reinstall, I don't have to go around looking for my discs, or worrying if I can't find them. All my sims games are neatly packaged on my Origin.  If I get a new computer, all I have to do is download Origin on that one and sign into my account and they are already on it, just gotta download them. The closer it gets, the more excited I am too, but I can't pre-order it no matter how much I want to. I have to buy my graphic card this month.

I like it now for the simple reason, if I do have to uninstall and reinstall, I don't have to go around looking for my discs, or worrying if I can't find them.

That's why I like to trick my game into thinking I have a digital install.  If I watch a movie or play something else, I have to search all over the place to find my game disc to play.  As far as finding them when they're not in use:  that's the easy part!  I have a drawer for them and they go back in it the moment I'm done using them.

Lol how do you trick your game? True, but I have moved since I got the base game and WA, and don't know for sure where the discs are. Thankfully I had already registered them with EA before losing them lol.

Ugh, I really want to pre-order Showtime, but its annoying that they only have the added SP for the 3 that I ALREADY HAVE.  I'm still going to order it, but I don't know what I will do with an extra copy of something I already have.

You could always order it from somewhere else. Like amazon or best buy.

Origin won't let you "buy" another copy of a stuff pack you've already got. I tried when I preordered Showtime and it popped an error telling me to choose something I didn't already have.

Looking forward to playing an acrobat sim when I get around to actually playing Showtime.

I think the social aspect of Showtime will be a nice addition, if your friend's list is composed of a decent, well-mannered community, like, say, this one?  I know that there are quite a few people here I would enjoy chatting with while I play...

Welcome back!  Yeah the only friends I have over there are from here, so that I won't mind. Even though like I said earlier, sometimes while playing the game I'm just too busy to talk.

I'm hoping for the singing that you can customize the music, like with the stereo. You could have your sim singing "Lady Gaga" or something.

You have NO IDEA how excited I am to make a Lady Gaga sim!! I think I'm going to need a meat dress.

Also, I've been trying to find out more on the Katy Perry edition, like images and such... no such luck.
