So, I've finally decided I am going to get it! And also if you order now you also get a cool stereo thing complements of Origin.
However, I am having trouble finalizing my order! It keeps telling me it won't work And then I tried again on a different browser and it keeps charging me for the FREE stuff pack it comes with it. I guess I'll try again later.

Are you going as far as you can in the ordering process without actually committing to the order?  Sometimes discounts don't show up until the last minute.

Yes, it shows up as a discount with I use firefox as my browser. But when I use Safari it doesn't show up.

I tried to buy it again and it said that it was "Unable to Process Order."

Well, that's odd.  Do you have another browser you can try?  I can't think of anything that would help.  I'm sorry.

Chrome might help. I've never experienced that problem since I switched a couple of months ago.

Try this link. I actually just preordered from this link a few hours ago and I did receive the free SP. I even downloaded it (haven't played yet, but it shows in the launcher). Click in the first section where it says "Shop Now."

Yeah I used the same page and it wouldn't work! I am going to download Chrome right now. I think it's rather odd that won't work on the main "Mac" internet browsers.

Chrome might help. I've never experienced that problem since I switched a couple of months ago.

EDIT: I tried Google Chrome and it STILL won't work! I tried using just my credit card and then also paypal and nothing worked. This is so frustrating!

Try clearing browser history and cookies?  I'm not sure if that will actually help, but it might.

Does this mean what I think it does? That we aren't really going to have control over the social features?

At about 4:42, I think, the woman says that you can make it totally private (or the wall postings at least).

Still, if worst comes to worst, they can't connect if you're disconnected from the internet. So if it bugs you, you could always unplug yourself from the internet.

Oh I'm glad I watched that whole thing before posting! It is optional, and we can choose not to post that stuff to the internet. That's good, I don't need all my facebook friends knowing everything I do in my game haha.

Hmm, I just hope I can complete the achievements and earn all the prizes without spamming any of my friends. Begging and bugging are my least favourite parts of social networking games. I'm thrilled to hear I can turn the whole thing off, though.

Me too Ausette!! That's why I refuse to play Sims Social, if it's anything like the other games, I need to beg my friends for stuff when I should be able to do it myself, after all it is my game. I'm glad they said at the end that we could turn it off, otherwise I was going to rethink getting it. Yes the new stuff looks awesome, and I really want all the expansions but I shouldn't be forced to let people I don't know, know what I'm doing every single second I play. If I get into a marathon playing mood, my wall would be overrun with it lol.

Can you imagine all the pop-ups you'd be getting during some of the challenges? It makes me glad I don't have any friends on the official site. I'd been thinking about adding a few friends to try out Simport, but I think I'll probably give all the social stuff a pass. I'm really looking forward to having some singing and acrobatic Sims, however.
