Why do people have to leak this stuff, it's annnoying and unfair on EA who may still be working on stuff that is yet to change and these leaks make people expect certain things and then be disappointed when the features leaked get pulled or something.

I agree! I love that EA likes to leave things out it makes it more exciting because then you can't wait to get it to find out and if you already know then well I just feel it ruins part of the surprise.
I am on the fence about this expansion but I will get it just because I feel as though I have to have all of them. Not sure why but I just do! But so far nothing screams "must buy"!

I just read on The Sims3 website , that today January 26th , at 10am PST , there will be a live broadcast for Showtime . It seems a little early for a broadcast since it's not due out for a couple of months . I will be watching it .

The thread is getting crowded, maybe creating a showtime board would be a good idea since we're nearing the release date?

Not yet.  We'll set up a board for Showtime when it's released.  Until then, it's best to have everything in one place.  It's all pre-release discussions, so it's fine here.

I, personally, am really excited for this EP. Maybe it's the singing Sims, but I think I'm definitely going to pre-order it when I get my next paycheck (and after I've paid my cell phone bill and my quarter of the rent/electricity/internet/water). I'm not so sure on the Katy Perry edition though. I mean I love her songs and the fact that she likes Sims herself just makes her all the more awesome in my book, but I don't know if the $10 extra will be worth it. I think I'll make an ultimate decision when I see how much money I have left this round.

People leak that kind of stuff because they really have nothing better to do with their time and they enjoy trolling on the hardwork of others. I would think that EA would do something a little more mystifying for their Genies. I feel that there was literally nothing special about the ones in the photos besides the fact that they were blue and wore different clothes. I think EA would do something more, I don't know, magical to their version. Like have them float, glow or something along those lines.  I'll wait till I get my copy to see if the Genies are legit or not.

I just finished watching the live broadcast. It looks awesome! In my opinion, it's probably going to be the best one yet. Can't wait for the release. I pre-ordered my copy in early December, but now would like to have the Katy Perry Edition. I'm not sure if I could cancel and reorder that copy. I will have to check on that. I'm so excited!

Finished watching the live chat and I've got to say this even more amazing than what I thought originally.    If you missed it, they should be uploading the recorded version soon, so you can still get all the previews that were discussed, including a demonstration of the photo booth and mechanical bull as well as the careers. I am officially completely sold and will more than likely get the Katy Perry edition.

I watched the live chat and I guess I'll be pre-ordering it. I'm still not terribly excited about it because I'm just disappointed in the type of SP. I never use the movie star career and I've only done the musician career once or twice. I think I might like the magician.  The producer even mentioned today that it had that American Idol feel to it and I really don't like that show.

The things I like are the new items and the town. I used to live in Southern California, I miss it, and the town really reminds me of it.

I already pre-ordered it, and I'm getting excited about it. I saw the live chat and I like the look of Starlight Shores.

Random things I remember -- "diva" trait plus 2 others, 5 new hairstyles for women plus hats, children can sing with karaoke machine, your Sim can go watch a concert.

I can't decide whether I want to try a singer, acrobat, or magician first. I enjoyed the Superstar EP for Sims 1 a lot more than I expected, and this looks like a much more developed version of that.

I didn't watch the live chat. Is there a link where I could see it? Even though I'm not excited like I was with Generations and Pets, I'm about 95% sure I'll end up having to get it. I mean, without it my sims collection would be incomplete and I can't do that!

EDIT 2: So just done watching the live chat...my opinion changed. I'm 100% sure I'm getting it.  Also they mentioned something that I hadn't thought of, as of January 24th my collection is incomplete again lol. Oh well, I'm sure I'll get it completed again soon. Anyways, I am excited about it, not sure about the simport, but as long as I have awesome friends here I hope I can complete the "passport" stamps haha. I wonder though do you have to complete them for every game, or once you're done you get the stuff for every future game? I didn't share any memories so maybe someone that did can answer?

I was wondering that too, I don't want to have to unlock the passport for every single game file in order to enjoy the 'rewards', however my best guess is that it is going to be like the rewards for memory sharing, at least I truly hope so.

I watched the live chat and I have to say, I was impressed before and now I am just hopping excited. I was watching it with my better half in the background and I was oohing and ahhing, that's enough of a hint right? lol
