That's some great information on those links.  I think they address most of the concerns our members have posted, especially about SimPort.  It will be just sending your Sim to someone else's game to perform.  And it's going to use the same technology that's currently being used for the Sims 3 Store and Exchange.  Looks like it's entirely voluntary, too.  If you don't want to share a Sim or receive one, you don't have to.

When I ordered master suites something told me to wait and not order showtime with it. I am glad I waited. I still might buy the regular limited edition version still. I am still debating-but still glad I waited.

SimPort is the new and completely optional feature in The Sims 3 Showtime that allows friends to share their Sims by sending them into each other’s worlds by going on tour. SimPort is brought to you through a fun new menu that looks like a travel journal, allowing you to send your star Sim performers on tour to the venues and stages in your friend’s world to perform special shows. You can also invite a friend to send their Sims in to perform for you. You can customize the stage in your venue with special themed backgrounds, props, lights and special effects before your friend’s Sim arrives to make sure their performance is a hit with your crowd of Sims.

This is from an email I subscribe to, I don't know if the link worked but it helped me see what's going on a little better. The only question I have now is, does my friend get to see my sim perform?

From how I understand it yes. It seems the email that was sent to you was part of the blog on the official site, which I linked to in an earlier post.

SimsVIP says that Origin is going to be giving away a free stuff pack of your choice with the pre-order of Showtime. I wonder if we will be able to receive Master Suite after it is released?

My guess is that Master Suite won't be included because Town Life (the most recent) wasn't included with Pets. But maybe we can get Town Life this time.

No Master Suite isn't included.

If I do pre-order (haven't decided if I want it yet) I'll do it through Amazon.  They have .99 shipping for release day arrival and when I pre-ordered Pets they gave people a 10.00 Amazon credit because EA was giving a stuff pack for pre-orders.

If I get Showtime, I'll get it a couple weeks to a month after it releases. Give time for the major bugs to be discovered and hopefully patched. I like to know what I'm getting myself into with Sims EP's. I don't want to discover some game file corrupting glitch because I just couldn't wait. And I know that if I buy, it I won't be able to stop myself from installing it. But I can stop myself from buying it.

And I'll just be getting the regular edition most likely. The additional items in the Collector's Edition is not worth the extra money.

I'm waiting until it comes closer to the release, and with the Katy Perry edition. Being a Katy Perry fan anyways, I know I'll be disappointed if I miss out.

I'm not too worried about my PC having problems with this game, especially with my new graphics card. Keep in mind, Pets is the biggest EP, memory and programing wise, and caused the most problems, even if it was only 1/4 of people with less than average GPU's. I'm really looking forward to this EP, and the new singing career with it. I'm also looking forward to any new cheats that could come with it.  ;D

Is this Katy Perry stuff part of the limited edition for pre-ordering?  If so, I'm hoping it's something to be downloaded from the Sims 3 site with a code that comes in the game.  I would rather not have it if I don't have to.

No. There's the regular edition, limited edition, and the Katy Perry Collector's Edition. The Katy Perry one costs an extra $10.

Also, it seems that the Katy Perry version will have the limited edition code in addition to the Katy Perry content.

For those who plan on getting this through Origin, Origin is currently offering $20 off the next purchase after a $49.99 purchase. The promotion ends on the 23rd of January. If you don't have many stuff packs, I suggest getting the Katy Perry version. It will enable you to get the $20 coupon. You will already get a free stuff pack for pre-ordering, AND you can get another stuff pack if you use the coupon! Well, the coupon, plus like $2.00. If you do this right, you could get the Collector's Edition and TWO stuff packs for $49.99.... plus like $2.00, haha. But this will only work if you do this before January 23rd.

I'm waiting until later to pre-order. The only reason why I would wait, is because ordering it months in advanced is going to drive me NUTS not being able to download and play it right away. I'm so impatient that way. (Like I said, Childish is one of my five traits).

That, and a whole shopping spree on an extra stuff pack, will be straining on my bank account. Don't mean to bring my personal issues into this, but I feel better waiting on a deal, later when it gets closer.
